WHarris1
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 07:30 PM) Hopefully better than it did last night. Exactly what I had in mind. It's the 1st inning, we don't need them all back right now. Chip away. Quickly 2 up, 2 down. Edited August 4, 2005 by GBlum27

fathom
That ball was crushed. I have a feeling one of the teams tonight is going to end up w/double digit runs.

WHarris1
Bulls*** call on the 0-1 to Scotty, El Duque threw a similar pitch for a ball. Ugly swing by Scotty, inning over. Leaves Juany at 2nd, s***.

He's 2 for his last 20 now. ...and not walking. He walked something like 23 times in the first two months, and just 15 times since the beginning of June. fathom
Indians have just scored 5 runs in the 5th to take a 5-4 lead against the Yankees. Nothing like a sweep against the Yankees to boost a team's momentum.

fathom
QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 12:59 AM) Real sharp inning from El Dque. Let's chip away It's all about facing righties for Duque. He still has good enough stuff to be tough on righties. Lefties get such a good look at his pitches, and he definitely doesn't have the type of control he needs against lefties. fathom
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 01:03 AM) I would MUCH rather they be in the wildcard than Oakland or LAA. I know we've talked about this before, but I'm more concerned with just winning the division right now. The Indians schedule is so easy, while ours is rather difficult, that if the Indians get on a real hot streak, they could make a race out of the AL Central. Brian
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 01:03 AM) It's all about facing righties for Duque. He still has good enough stuff to be tough on righties. Lefties get such a good look at his pitches, and he definitely doesn't have the type of control he needs against lefties. His stats are actually very similar vs. righties and lefties. Lefties bat .287 compared to .275 for righties. He walks lefties a lot more.
