Peter Gammons

So I get to listen to ESPN for 5 minutes on my drive to the train, I am indeed that lazy. In this time Gammons is on. I suppose the conversation started with how much of an impact, seeing as they played for Boston, Willamson and Nomar will have and the cub run to the Series starts today.

Well in the time I listed he talked about how Shilling will start and Foulke will be saving games by September, ok fine. Then he goes into a dissertation about how the Manny thing was good for the team (ya right). Clement looked great yesterday (Don't know the details but the score was 11-9). Wells is their best starter and they will be good with Wakefield. I guess he has given up on Wade Miller.

Here is the topper after this crap he goes on about how Theo and Cashman have realized that they need their prospects to produce and then he listed all (I think there were 5) pitchers that can add to Boston in September or immediatly next year.

This pissed me off, not really sure why, it is nothing new.

Thats Boston Gammons for you...not a real surprise he is drooling and spanking it with a thumb up his ass while talking about the BoSox.

Exactly. Every time I see Gammons’s face on SportsCenter I quickly change the channel. The man just doesn’t fit into the Sports Analyst job because of his obsession with the Red Sox

Didn't Clement give up like 5 or 6 runs in like 5 innings?

Yeah, that's really great, Pete.

Maybe he meant that Clement's beard was nicely trimmed, so he looked great.

So, Clement looked like a well manicured merkin as usual, then.

5 IP, 5 H, 6 ER, 4BB. In other words, DOMINANT.

In all honesty though...coming back 1 week after being nailed in the head by a line drive, 5IP is not terrible.

All credit goes to Clement in returning to the mound that quickly.

He was resilient.

He was feisty.

He was double-tough.

But he did not "look great" giving up 6 runs and 4 walks in 5 innings.

Grampa McCartney could have complimented Matt's toughness and fighting spirit while acknowledging that Clement struggled.

....but it's the Red Sox, so.....
