On Tuesday, in discussing last weekend's 48-10 loss to TCU, DeBerry said it was clear TCU "had a lot more Afro-American players than we did and they ran a lot faster than we did."

"It just seems to me to be that way," he said. "Afro-American kids can run very well. That doesn't mean that Caucasian kids and other descents can't run, but it's very obvious to me that they run extremely well."

I'm still wondering what Fisher Deberry is getting punished for. There is absolutely nothing wrong with his remarks, they weren't derogatory in any manner, and its hard to argue with him. He just spoke the apparent truth to a sensitive society, or should I say media.

Notre Dame to extend Weis' contract through 2015

ESPN.com news services

Charlie Weis will sign a contract extension with Notre Dame, ending speculation that he will return to the NFL as a head coach, ESPN College GameDay analyst Kirk Herbstreit reported Saturday.

Beginning next season, the new 10-year deal will keep Weis at Notre Dame through 2015.

The No. 9 Fighting Irish are 5-2 this season going into Saturday's game against Tennessee.

Weis became the first Notre Dame graduate to coach the team since Hugh Devore served as interim coach in 1963, signing a six-year contract with Notre Dame in December, in the midst of his ninth season with the New England Patriots, his fifth as the team's offensive coordinator.

I laughed then and am laughing now at those who were predicting a doomed season for Michigan.

While Michigan isn't in the National Championship picture, they are a good team. They would be a very good team if they could get healthy and if Henne could be more consistent. Their defense was very good tonight against a team that had carved up many an opponent this year.

Oh and Tennessee lost to South Carolina!

on a side note, Illinois games aren't even fun anymore.

Last year, even though we still lost, we seemed to at least be competitive.

but on the bright side, the band had a blues brothers theme at halftime.

Rex and Brian do you guys agree with me that Michigan needs a QB change. I know it's late but I really think that Gutierrez is a much better QB than Henne. I was at the game yesterday and some of thoses passes that Henne threw were just awful. He overthrew Jason Avant 3 times and Breaston twice in the 2nd half. And this is against the worst defense in College Football. Obviously right now the defense is the strength of this football team and IMHO is the most underrated defense in College football. But sooner or later you are gonna have to put up more points on the board. And Henne isn't able to do that without a guy like Braylon Edwards. There is only a certain amount of times in which Avant can save Henne's ass after he makes a bad throw. And Henne is about as mobile as my Grandmother who uses a cane to walk. Gutz is much more mobile and can make things happen on his own. Also i agree with both of you guys. Michigan will win the Big Ten and I can't wait to see those cocky buckeye fans weep on this message board once Ohio State gets beat.
