Wisconsin already lost to Iowa.  Plus Sparty is capable of beating anybody with that offense.  Wisconsin is out of the Big Ten Championship picture.

My goof, I thought Wisc had two conference loses after today but they have 3. A Penn State loss and a Michigan win gives them another Big 10 title. Shocking with the way they played the first few games.

I can't see Michigan getting a BCS slot. I could see Ohio State getting one, but not Michigan with three losses.

Alabama, VA Tech and even Oregon would likely get the extra BCS at-large before Michigan. Penn State will not lose to Michigan State so you can erase that dream.

Pencil in Michigan for either the Capitol One or Outback Bowl.

either way Penn State is in.  Also if Michigan does make the BCS Wisconsin will go to the Capitol One Bowl because they have never been their and it is Barry's last year.

So the Cap one would have a choice between OSU and Wisconsin, and they would choose Wiscy because it's Barry's last year? Pulease.

We get it. You think Michigan walks on water. tOSU is the spawn of the devil. But let's be realistic. Cap One will take the Buckeye every time.

The one problem with these silly premises from Michgan fans that they will win the Big 10, and that is that Michigan State pretty much quit after the painful losses to TOSU and Michigan (except for a win against Indiana, but hey, they are Indiana for a reason). Penn State is a screw job from the clock operator at the Big House from being 12-0, and will shut down the Spartans offense, making this argument a moot point. Plus, TOSU is a superior team to Michigan and will beat them anyways.

Ok, that rant may not have been necessary, but Michigan football fans are just plain silly with their unrealistic optimism sometimes. Oh, and changing subjects here....were you at the game Head? And if so, what was the "evacuation to the basketball arena" scene like?

Also, the BCS may consider themselves "victorious" this year since Texas and USC are going to be the only 2 undefeated teams, but the system still sucks. Nobody can convince me or any other logical fans that they know for sure USC would beat Miami on a neutral field, or that Texas would beat Penn State on a neutral field, or that LSU couldn't beat any of them, etc etc.....

To get to the title game, you have to be in a group of half a dozen or so really good teams nationally, and then be one that's in a down coference that year. The Big 12 is flat out weak this year, and the PAC 10 has USC, and then Oregon is a pretty good team that has benefitted from beating on the bottom of the conference, and UCLA has an awesome offense that wins 50-40 games, and the rest of that conference blows.

God I hate the BCS, but a playoff is never going to happen.

*end unnecessary rant #2*

Theoretically a playoff will begin next year with the "+1". Unless they have monkey brains, they will have to seed the teams and play 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3 or else it won't make sense.

But the fact they added a 12th regular season game this year, all but kills the chances for an 8-team playoff. To do so, they would need to cut the season down by a game and once you put that revenue of the 12th game into place, there is no way they will take it away.

I, for one, have no problem with the current system. I also had no problem with the old system either. The whole college football season is basically one big playoff. It brings excitement every week. Every game means something. People talk and argue about which teams are better, which makes it great.

The only change I would make, is to scrap the BCS formula and have the bowls (top 4 teams) be chosen by a selection committee, similar to the basketball tournament.

WTF are you talking about. It should've been 4 seconds added to the clock not 2. Michigan won that game fair and square.

You must not be a fan of history. Whenever Michigan and Ohio State plays and one team has to win to win the Big 10, it never happens. Almost eerie.

I guess you haven't seen Michigan's new and improved defense have you?  It's the best defense against the pass in the Big Ten.

Guess you havent seen the OSU offense as of late have you? Oh and OSU has a pretty good defense too.

Canes win 47-17...  Damn 1st game of the season vs FSU , they gave that one away and it will hurt them. Should be playing USC for National Title... best Offense vs best Defense.

Not to be a homer, but have you been watching Texas? If USC didn't have "the streak" the gap between #1 and #2 would be a lot closer. Many voters believe, and I'm inclined to agree, that until USC loses, they are #1. But that means they are looking at 2003 and 2004 in voting for 2005.

However, judging just on 2005, I believe more voters would place Texas in the top spot. So perhaps it would be Canes - Longhorns

Are we not allowed to discuss the game in this thread? I do believe it is the "Official College Football Thread". He made a comment on how UM had the best pass defense in the big ten, I had to correct him. Is this wrong? Does this not happen in any other thread when someone makes an incorrect statement? Are we in some way bothering you? This is what makes college football better than the NFL. OSU vs. UM is a rivalry, this is how fans of each team are supposed to react. I am sorry if you can not appreciate my heart and love for OSU.

Just the way you two do it bothers me, sorry. Michigan sucks! OSU blows!

Screw that, both are excellent teams and it should be a great game. Discussing the merits of a game without acting as if your team (meaning anyone's team) walks on water would be more appropriate, but that's just me.

I only quoted your post because it was the most recent. It was probably the best as far as pointing out facts of the exchange, so I'll give you that. I was venting more at the way you guys seem to go at each other.

I've said my piece, carry on.........
