Where do you get that information?  Based on your "predictions" I would guess pulling it out of your ass.  His yards/carry were at the bottom of the conference. hurt or not, you are full of it, the RB at Indiana outperformed him on similar attempts.  Would he have gotten 1500 yards if he carried the ball more too??

Next thing im going to hear is that Jason Avant is the best WR in the nation.

I did his averages for the games that he was healthy. When healthy he averaged 125.2 Yards a game. That would be 1502 yards.

Oh ok, because every defense is the same right? And you are the judge who determines when someone is healty right? In his first game, when he was healthy, he barely broke 100 yards vs a MAC team, but you have him gaining 1500 yards? Wow dude, just wow.

Texas is still getting a top flight lineman in the country coming in next year and Bush is not returning to USC. He's made that known already. If Young is back, Texas is #1 without a doubt.

Who gives a damn if Texas is bringing in a top offensive lineman in the next recruiting class (I'm not even sure who you are referring too, they only have one 4-star O-lineman and he's ranked #65 by rivals)? If you want to use that line of argument Florida, ND, and USC have much better committments at this point. There are very few freshmen lineman that can play at a top level in any major conference, in fact I can't think of any. There aren't that many players that are impact players as freshmen, and Texas has guys coming back at the two positions that you usually find those guys: RB and WR.

Secondly, Reggie Bush himself hasn't announced that he is definitely coming out unless I missed something since the bowl game. It was reported a while ago by 'inside sources" that he was going pro, but it wasn't Bush himself saying it. In fact, he did an interview shortly before the Rose Bowl that said something to the effect "you guys are all assuming that I'm leaving, but I haven't made my decision yet." More importantly, it doesn't really matter since I said that both running backs would have to leave to drop them, and I haven't heard anything stating that White is even considering going yet.

The articles I've read seem to assume that both RB's are going while Vince Young is going, which is simply asanine. I'd be very surprised if Young comes back after winning the title and having that kind of fabulous season. If he goes, Texas is in full rebuilding mode. Even if he comes back, I don't know if they have the kind of team that can go back to the title game. Maybe they can make it back to a BCS game, but their D is going to have to be at least decent to do that, and they lost pretty much every impact player they had. USC on the other hand still brings back an awful lot of good players even if Bush leaves.

218 yards against Michigan State. Over 100 yards against best defense in the Big Ten (Penn State) and he had a good game against the Gophers.

Are The Buckeyes In Trouble Again?

We don’t want to overstep our bounds here — no, really — but we’ve been hearing a pretty persistant rumor in recent days concerning the Ohio State football program. If the rumors are true, be on the lookout for potential sanctions against the Buckeyes, with the offenses ranging from taking tests for athletes to unauthorized payments (from whom we’re not sure; boosters, maybe).

In an even more potentially damning rumor, perhaps for all parties, the NCAA actually uncovered these violations and decided on punishment BEFORE the season started, but, according to a couple of sources, didn’t want to mess with television schedules. Hence, the delay.

Just rumors, as of now, but relatively solid sources. The real question: Will Brady Quinn’s sister change that uniform of hers now?

Uh Oh

This site was the site that broke the news that Matt Lawton was on Steroids.

Uh Oh. You showed your true colors on your Hart argument right there with that post. Jealousy gets you nowhere Josh.

Leave it to you to post "information" from a blog web site. They DO have good pictures of drunk groupies however.

tOSU and scUM are so dirty......amazing what they get away with.

EVERYBODY is dirty. I went to a MAC school and our QB who now plays for the steelers got some really nice benefits. For example, the coaches wife teach the players all of their courses. They take tests together in a room. They get per diem which they routinely trade back in and buy things like TV's, phones etc. And this is a MAC school. If you think for one second that ANY team in the country isnt diryt, you would be wrong.

I have to say, I'm SHOCKED that Marcus was arrested again in December, and that somehow he was able to play the bowl game and the charges didn't come out until after the win. SHOCKED

Nice to see the win at all costs spirit alive and well in Blacksburg. But hey, they are done with Vick now that they have gotten 3 years out of him and they don't need him anymore, now they can come out and kick him off the team and look like the hero's.

Bingo.

When I was at a wedding in Indianapolis this winter, NC state mens BBALL was staying in our hotel. They all walked down to the lobby at the same time and had me wondering, how did all of these players get the money to have brand new Treo cell phones and video Ipods attached to bose noise-eliminating headphones. I bet they bought it with their own money.

Its not always what it seems, but I'm not saying cheating doesn't go on. Don't forget, college athletes like that have their 20-30,000 dollar tuition already paid, and alot of their families had money saved up for that purpose, that they then allow their child to spend on something. I know not everyone has 10k+ saved up for college, but my family is of average wealth and I know I could have afforded phones like that if I had my college already paid off. They also get "special" deals on equipment like that or cars from their college's boosters in the area, which can be considered cheating, just not by NCAA standards, atleast to an extent.

I wouldn't draft him.

well, he's obviously a talented football player, and yes, he has major character issues and too many off-field troubles. but if Clarett can bomb at the combine and be drafted on the first day, and character issues knocked someone with Randy Moss's skill set to #18, why wouldn't Vick get drafted?

University President Charles Steger Statement on Marcus Vick

January 6, 2006

Virginia Tech quarterback Marcus Vick has been permanently dismissed from the Hokie football program due to a cumulative effect of legal infractions and unsportsmanlike play.

Virginia Tech had suspended Vick in 2003. The university provided one last opportunity for Vick to become a citizen of the university and re-admitted him in January 2004, with the proviso that any future problems would result in automatic dismissal from the team.

Head Football Coach Frank Beamer met with Vick and his mother this afternoon and informed the quarterback and his family of the University's decision. His recent actions are unfortunate and we wish him well in his future endeavors.

****

Said Coach Frank Beamer, "I'm very disappointed that this didn't have a better ending. We wanted what's best for this football team and Marcus. I certainly wish him the best."

Come on man. Half of those players wouldnt have gone to college if it wasnt for sports, and half of their families hadnt saved up a a dime. They get stuff for free, that have no-show jobs that they get paid for. Its pretty much industry standard.

because I would put the character of a person higher. He is going to represent your franchise and you don't want a guy getting arrested and be in trouble with the law. Character first, talent second if the talent is close.

He still going to get drafted. Talent is always above attitude. Otherwise the sox wouldnt have picked up bobby jenks for example. People are always willing to take a chance, especially when your last name is Vick.

that is different. It didn't really cost them that much and if he sucked or was still injured they could just let him go. Now if Vick was still around in the 4th or 5th round I would say yes. But not in the first 3 rounds.
