BHAMBARONS
Barons 7 Montgomery 5 W- Tracey (12-5) L- Flinn (3-6) Sv- Pollok Tracey had a very good outing tonight only made one mistake to Neuberger a high sinker that was hit just over the short LF Porch. Sean picked up on a trend of Montgomery hitters looking 1st pitch Fastball until he picked that up he gave up some hits after he threw lots of first pitch sinkers and getting pops and grounders. Chris Stewart had a whale of a game 3-4 3 RBI and an absolute bomb for to LCF that went on to the railroad tracks behind the stadium for an estimated 450 ft blast. Chris also laid down a perfect squeeze bunt. Jerry Owens hit streak reaches 14 and had a homerun taken away by a fan in the 2nd as the fan touched a ball before it could clear the wall. Bullpen struggled mightly tonight other than the return of Luby who bailed Wasserman out of 1st and 3rd jam with a 6-4-3 Dp and got the 1st out in the 9th. And somehow Pollok got out of a bases loaded 1 out jam in the 9th with a popup and sharp ground out
DBAHO
They should leave Sanchez in the #3 spot down in Bristol for a while. He's had some of his best games there, rather than the #2 and #6 hole. Still no Anderson, Borch didn't exactly have a great game either. Good to see Tracey pick up a win though, he's been sturggling a little lately. danman31
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 12:37 AM) They should leave Sanchez in the #3 spot down in Bristol for a while. He's had some of his best games there, rather than the #2 and #6 hole. Sanchez is practically Chris Young II. He doesn't walk as much, but from what we've seen so far he's a power hitting CF with a low average, good speed, and a lot of K's. Young, when 18 and in his first pro season, hit .217/.308/.380. with 13 doubles, 1 triple, 5 HR, and 7/15 in stolen base attempts in 184 at-bats. Sanchez is off to a better start in terms of average, but has almost the exactly same amount of extra base hits with a similar amount of ABs. Sanchez in 168 ABs has 13 doubles, 1 triple, and 4 HRs. Sanchez 12/12 in steals is definitely very impressive and speed looks like a more important factor for him than Young. The biggest difference is that Young walks more, but he has drawn more walks as he has progressed through the minors as do most players. It will be interesting to see how he develops. Sanchez is definitely going to be one to watch over the next few seasons. It'll be interesting to see if he increase his average up to the .300 level, or whether it stays around the .260/.270 mark, or if he can increase his walk totals to the level of Chris Young.
