DBAHO
The Sox are on a 2 game winning streak as they travel to New York. El Duque takes on Mike Mussina in what should be a great game. Mussina only has a 3.03 ERA at home, so the Sox need to make the most of every oppurtunity against him, while the likes of Jason Giambi have just been on fire lately. Let's go SOX!!! greasywheels121
I have a really good feeling that Duque's going to show up his old team in this game. Extend the winning streak!

Brian
I guess "rake" is an overstatement but still very good there. I knew he killed Mussina though.
WSoxMatt
Mussina is 12-14 career vs the Sox with a 4.81 ERA. Watch for Dye to wear out Mussina as he has a .417 AVG with 2 HRs. AJ hits .533 vs Mussina!!! None of are guys hit Mariano well at all!!! Also with HRs... Dye-2 Crede-1 Everett-2 Timo-

bjm676
El Duque v. Mussina? Now this should be a good matchup. Looking forward to see how the Sox pitchers shut down the Yankee hitters.

GreatScott82
Time to take 2 of 3 in the Bronx! I predict a W today, a L tommorow w/ Contreras and a series win on Wednesday as Freddy is both awesome on the road and in day games.
chisoxfan79
Who is pitching for the Spankees this series besides Mussina tonight? I know there is no Unit this series. Also I predict the Contreras will pitch one of his best games of the year something like the Cleveland game after the ASB.

Meh, forget the fact that it's a road day game, I just expect Freddy to dominate cause he'll be interested. El duque has really been great since he's come back off the dl minus 2 innings, really. Yoda
The Yankees suck when it comes to facing teams like the White Sox who can run the bases. We need Scotty to break out of that slump, NOW! Jason Giambi can’t field a bunt, I’m not so sure about Rodriguez, but Giambi is the weakness of that Yankee defense. If Scotty gets on than Iguchi has a chance of doing what he’s been doing all season long. Only concern I have about this series is Contreras. He is very fragile and coming back to the Bronx is not going to help. Oh... and please don’t put TIMO in RF.

Ozzie Montana
I think this is El Duque's kind of game. There'll be alot of noise over there which doesnt bother him, actually I think it makes him better, and I think he knows his former mates pretty good. Balta1701
QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 09:47 AM) I'm pretty sure ARod can more than hold his own at the hot corner. We aren't going to be beating them by bunting. Actually I think bunting is exactly 1 of the ways you beat the Yankees. The Yankees are a great team at 1 thing; hitting the ball real hard. But they're not that good at really anything else (except closing games, but that's a different story). They're adequate at most positions on defense...not great anywhere, although Jeter's pretty good. Arod is servicable...Cano has been a step above Soriano, and their outfield defense is basically a hole. Their pitching staff is certainly not in good shape, and their bullpen has 2 guys with an ERA under 4.00. You beat the Yankees with 3 things; good pitching, good defense on your own side so that the Yankee hitters aren't given extra outs to play with, and good enough hitting. The Yankees want to beat you like we wanted to beat people last year; lots of home runs against pitchers/defenses doing a bad job. But if you put pressure on them...by bunting, running bases hard, putting the ball in play...you're going to make them be the team struggling to keep up. And if your pitching staff holds its ground and doesn't let them explode for 8 runs, then you're in a good position to beat them, because their pitchers aren't going to dominate you in most games. I think tonight's our chance to see how much we can count on the "Big game" El Duque. It may not be big in the standings, but for him, it's his old team, it's a great hitting team...it's a big game for him. This is really his chance to prove how good he can be in big games - he already had a good one against the BoSox.
