jphat007
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 05:54 PM) You should check his Postseason ERA from last year. Mr. October is a thing of previous Octobers. The man is pushing the old age home. He gave up 3 runs in the 5 innings against an awesome Boston offense on the road and would have had the win if Rivera didn't blow the save. This is also when he was hurt. He has a 2.63 postseason ERA in his career.
southsideirish71
Having Timo DH is the same as having Borchard in RF last year. Their stats are very similiar. Except LTP could hit the long ball.
Flash Tizzle
This is frustrating watching our hitters miss straight, 90 mph fastballs and watching his floating curveball. Of all the possible 1-2 starters playing on playoff contenders, Mussina should be the ONE you'd expect to string together a few big innings. Their stats are very similiar. Except LTP could hit the long ball. I said yesterday I'd rather have Borchard playing than Timo. At least if Borchard hits the ball, he's a threat to contribute to the offense.
Antonio Osuna
The Yankees are showing us that they're still the force in the AL. Or, rather, they're showing us that they can hit an old man around and that Mike Mussina can still pitch.

Antonio Osuna
BTW, Timo haters. He's batting 1.000 today. He's doing his job tonight, unlike the rest of this team.
southsideirish71
Clue to the hitters, this is hunter wendlestedt. He hates you because you are a member of this team. Anything remotely near the plate on 2 strikes protect. Mussina will have 10 Ks tonight.

CWSGuy406
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 11:52 PM) 3-0. Somebody should tell Duque to stop rubbing the Yankees' face in the fact that they didn't re-sign him. Congratulations! You've earned the 'Stupidest Post of the Gamethread Award'! Yeah, the Yanks are really glad that they don't have El Duque for $4 million and his 4.70 ERA. Rather, they have have guys like Carl Pavano for ten million (4.77 ERA, 17 starts) and Jaret Wright for seven million (9.15 ERA in four starts). Don't take this personally, but you're a dumbass. fathom
In all honesty, what do people think our lead will be after this week? We have 6 vs Yanks and Red Sox, while a red hot Indians team has 6 vs KC and Tampa. I'm hoping it's above 10 after Sunday.

The way our offense has been lately, and the fact that Buehrle and Garland only pitch once, i wouldn't be surprised if we had just a 10 game lead on Monday.
