Hes far from a prospect at this point and his role as mop up guy fits him well. Hes an average pitcher whose role is mop-up duty. He doesn't need innings... Whitewashed in '05 Posted August 9, 2005 Share Posted August 9, 2005 I give every White Sox player a chance unless hes proven he sucks to the fullest like Walker :puke . Last year Adkins was doing good and then he got on a rough stretch, this season his only outing he was throwing strikes commanding the count. I liked what I saw, hopefully whenever he gets thrown out there he contributes so I am rooting for him. I will probably be the only one but I don't care, if he adds another piece to the solid bullpen I have no problem with that. It's pretty obvious that Baj has no future in this organization I mean hes been pitching lights out all year long in that hitters park in Charlotte and Walker gets the call over him twice. beck72 Posted August 9, 2005 Share Posted August 9, 2005 Adkins is here because Ozzie doesn't want to screw up the rest of the bullpen which has been lights out. The other guys need to throw regularly. But not too much that they're overworked and used up before the playoffs. Adkins is the odd man out by design. If Adkins is getting too much work, that means the starters aren't going long in games. If the starters are going into the 7th inning, the other guys can close out games from there.
