whitesox247
The winner of the All-Star game gets home-field advantage in the World Series?! Does he know how important homefield advantage is?? It's way too important to be depended on an exhibition game that only contending teams' players will try in. And in the years before this, homefield advantage was switched back and forth between leagues? What a joke. It should strictly be based on who had the best regular-season record. That's it. DonkeyKongerko
Unlike basketball or hockey, apparently baseball executives felt that a team that won more games in a 162 game season didn't deserve a homefield advantage in the World Championship. I still think the '97 Indians probably would have won that series if they had been playing game 7 at Jacob's Field.
SI1020
Selig reminds me more and more of Vince McMahon every day. The ghosts of commissioners past must be spinning.

Maybe they'd switch the spots back and forth between Hawaii and Puerto Rico....unless the Expos make it, which would give homefield advantage to the Expos if they played in Puerto Rico, so in the case that the Expos make it to the World Series, the locations are Hawaii and Alaska. How's that?
IlliniKrush
Isn't it something like the last 7 game 7's in a world series has been won by a home team? Definitely should be best record. They are only doing this because of the infamous tie, which was not selig's fault, say what you want. What did you want him to do, call for a "blastoff" to break the tie? Or kill the pitchers? If anything blame the managers, not selig. It's one thing u can't blame him for. It's a damn exhibition game, i wish people would get over it. Who really cares who won anyway. It's a joke.
