spiderman
http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/3875540 Personally, I don't want to root for somebody like him, or do anything to mess with the chemistry of the team (add a media circus that would be distracting), but I thought I'd throw it out there. Kalapse
Rafeal Palmeiro is a lying, cheating bastard there is absolutely no way in hell I ever want him anywhere near the White Sox. I hope he never plays in the big leagues again, baseball would be better off.

I hope he never plays in the big leagues again, baseball would be better off. I agree with you, but there is so much speculation around here about adding another bat...He could be available, I don't want him, but others may disagree. Chisoxfn
And if he wins the world series...he's a lying prick that doesn't deserve the HOF, but would get my applause for helping the Sox cause I do think he makes them a better team. Plus as much as I hate the fact that he was juicing, I also must admit he's known as a very classy guy whose well liked in the clubhouse. I would never stoop so low as to pick up a known juicer just to make a push in the playoffs. I'd much rather go the rest of the season with Everett at DH than have a POS like Palmeiro in the lineup. I know that everyone seems to like him and he's always been a good guy but anyone who would s*** on the game and embarras his team, family and sport like he has is not welcome on any team I cheer for. CanOfCorn
Kalapse, I know what you are saying, but the stupidest thing he did was get caught. Sorry buddy, but I am guaranteeing you that a lot of your fav players have at one time or another juiced. That would make half of the league liars and cheaters, etc. I respect the man for coming back and taking the brunt of the fans anger. It's going to take a lot of strength (this time without the 'roids) to do that. I don't like what he did, I certainly don't condone it, but he did it, paid the price that was handed down and is being reinstated. If he gets caught again, ban him from baseball. EDIT: As for picking him up, no. But not because of him juicing, but because of the media circus surrounding him. Sure a lot of baseball players juice most likely but there's no proof of it. Palmeiro juiced and got caught then the worst part of all lied about not taking them. f*** him. I gained a little respect for a ballplayer who has been caught juicing, his name is Jorge Piedra, he admitted that he took steroids and said he was looking for a competitive edge. AWESOMENESS an athlete who didn't lie to me, thank you Jorge.
Kyyle23
I wonder what Yankees fans think of Giambi right around now? I know they were ready to draw and quarter him before the season, i wonder if the sentiment has changed?
Dick Allen
No to Palmiero. Besides if the Sox picked him up and won something there would be an asterik by it. Anybody who testifies before Congress that he never has done steriods after it was published in a book and then tests positive for steriods 2 months later to taint his accomplishment of 3000 hits, has to be one of the biggest idiots in the world. LosMediasBlancas
"...because of the media circus surrounding him. Exactly, people already look for reasons to not like the Sox. Why give them one more? but wait, Canseco ALREADY played for the Sox. Edited August 9, 2005 by LosMediasBlancas
AnthraxFan93
Hmm Raffy must have asked Sosa what helped you to get 60 HRs? f*** Raffy, I was a fan but after this BS.. f*** him.. He and Sosa can argue who is a bigger Ego.

Maybe trade him to TB, they always need some crap.

bigred3535
I disapprove of Palmeiro's juicing, but the one thing that always occurs to me whenever a controversy like this occurs is that steroids don't help your batting eye, quick wrists, glove, or any of the many other natural talents you need to be a good player. If Palmeiro has used steroids during his entire career, he deserves whatever s*** he gets, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's not a talented player who could help the Sox. Rip me for saying all this stuff if you like, but everyone (including potential Hall of Famers) makes mistakes...
Punch and Judy Garland
Nobody really KNEW anything about Canseco and steroids ( at least at the management level) but a lot of people pretty much assumed. I don't blame the Sox at all but they probably did tell themselves what they wanted to hear.
Steve Bartman's my idol
I don't know, the rules are there for a reason, he got caught, served his time, yes he lied, others have lied as well.
