Heads22
I've heard a lot of Illinois people gripe about Iowa and that, but I tend to think Nebraska is actually worse. I'm not really basing it on anything, besides this old newspaper article. I'm just this bored. Nebraska Lawmaker Proposes War On Iowa LINCOLN, Neb. - A Nebraska lawmaker is so fed up with constituents crossing the state border to gamble that she proposed going to war with neighboring Iowa. “I've been cautioned that the members of the Iowa Legislature might not take it kindly,' said Sen. Pam Brown of Omaha. Brown's proposed amendment read: “The sovereign state of Nebraska declares a state of hostility with the sovereign state of Iowa until such a time as the state of Iowa ceases the unjust and relentless appropriation of the resources of the citizens of Nebraska.” Brown offered the amendment to a proposed constitutional amendment that would ask votes to approve casino gambling in Nebraska. She said she offered the tongue-in-cheek proposal to get her colleagues focused on the seriousness of the issue. Supporters of the casino measure have complained that Nebraskans spend an estimated $250 million a year at casinos in Council Bluff, Iowa, just across the border from Omaha. Brown later withdrew the amendment.
SoxFan1
I like both states because the hunting and fishing are great in both but I say Iowa is worse because of the mass Cub fans...

SoxFan1
Clearly, you guys are not the outdoorsman. I love all these states. Iowa has big bucks. Kansas has big bucks and great catfishing. Wyoming has Elk, Trour, Mule Deer, Whitetail, etc as does Colorado. Nebraska is a great antelope and whitetail state.... Tisk tisk tisk... Soxy
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 05:06 PM) Do tell... Dated a Nebraskan. His family (mostly mom) hated me, mother would do rosaries anytime she saw me, occassionally throwing me a nasty glance before or after she would dive in. And he was kind of spinless and boring. And he refused to listen to anything but crappy smooth jazz anytime we went for a car ride. And he wore leather gloves while drive Autumn through Spring. whitesoxin'
I remember driving through Nebraska on a family vacation out west. I sat in hours of anticipation to see the baseball stadium in Omaha that holds the CWS. It was the most boring drive ever, and we even drove through Kansas and Wyoming. You claim that you're prettier than Britney. And you date a guy who listens to SMOOTH F'N JAZZ. In NEBRASKA. (Got nothing against country here -- wouldn't someone in Nebraska kick this guy's ass?) It doesn't add up. (Ie, the LLN just failed to work.)

(Ie, the LLN just failed to work.) It was college, he's cute, he's a musician (and plays far better choices than I had to listen to) and he's funny and really smart. He isn't much of a talker, so I imagine that's how he survived before out of NE. (And have you seen Britney without make-up/hair stylists--let's face it, it's not that hard to be cuter than her.) What's there to hate about Missouri? WTF?! Stupid Cubs fan.... I have a friend going to Nebraska. Everyone asks him "Why Nebraska?" He's just going for their Professional Golf Management School. DBAHO
Since I've only been to Arizona and California can't really say much on this, but the drive north from Phoenix was very nice with the surroundings etc. Not much if you go south west- along the Mexcian Border to Yuma though. maggliopipe
Nebraska, but not by a lot. Iowa's saving grace is most definitely Iowa City, a very nice place. I went to college about 20 miles outside of IC and made the drive at least three times a week for food/entertainment. Other than that, every other city is an industrial s***hole. Oh, and Adair, Iowa is also great.
