Jenks to get into the mix at the end

Jenks has earned a bigger role

He keeps trusting his stuff its another option at the end of the game. This is our insurance plan if Hermy's back keeps acting up.

I am wondering if they should shut Hermy down for a bit so he can get his back healed. We need Hermanson in the playoffs and as our closer.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised it you saw DL stints for Hermanson and Crede come September 1st, or even after this stretch of 15 games.

We'll probably see some of Bobby perhaps tonight, along with Viz and Cotts. This is our future closer here though folks, and hopefully if his head stays screwed on for the next 10 years, he'll be a damn good one at that.

Excellent advice, just keep it in the zone. If they can hit that kinda heat and his nasty hook, you tip your cap to em and take your loss. More often than not, they won't be able to touch it.

Bobby can probably develop a cutter over the next few seasons as well, and run that in on lefties, which will make him even harder to hit against them.

A splitter would be murder on the arm, but would probably fit his power game a bit more. Its hard enough to hit his fastball, but a hard splitter would be very hard to pick up.

We just don't want him falling in love with a splitter ala Mr. Contreras now do we?

Very good point, as that would make two more players eligible for the post season roster.

Jeff Bajenaru and Ross Gload would be the obvious options. Of course it would most likely end being Joe Borchard and Dave Sanders or Kevin Walker knowing how KW rates some players in the upper levels of our minor league system.

I'd like to see Anderson get called up though if there if a vacancy, but I doubt that will happen before September anyway.

It is kind of funny how a lot of the people that defend Ozzie (saying that he knows how to manage better than any of us) also criticize KW/Ozzie for never bringing up Baj.

You could kind of say that. But even if Baj wasn't a SoxTalk poster, a lot of us would now still be saying "why isn't this guy up with the numbers he has" instead of someone like Jon Adkins or Kevin Walker. We'll see him in September, and that's a very crucial period for him.

But like I've said with Ozzie, there's worse managers out there at using the bullpen than him. Felipe Alou went through something like 5 relievers in 1 inning this season.

Heres the thing about Bobby. Just when you thought you had seen his stuff, he drops a 88 MPH change in the strike zone and the batter looks confused. Then somehow he dropped a "slider" down in the down for a swinging K. The guy is downright befuddling hitters.
