Game Story

ORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) -- Chad Durham laced three singles

and added a two-run double to highlight a five-run eighth inning

as the Birmingham Barons beat the Orlando Rays, 7-3. Durham,

who had gone 22 games without driving in a run, singled and

scored to tie the game at 2-2 in the top of the seventh and hit

his first double of the season in the eighth to put Birmingham

ahead, 4-3. Gabe Alvarez homered to lead off the seventh frame

and scored twice for the Barons, who snapped a four-game skid.

Clay Eason (1-3) did not allow a run in and retired two batters

to collect the win. Chairon Isenia had two hits and knocked in a

run for Orlando, which had won three straight following a

12-game losing streak. Evan Rust (0-2) was shelled for five runs

-- four earned -- and three hits in one inning of work to

suffer the loss.
