Rex Kickass
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05223/552161.stm The juicy bits: Staff Sgt. Jason Rivera, 26, a Marine recruiter in Pittsburgh, went to the home of a high school student who had expressed interest in joining the Marine Reserve to talk to his parents. It was a large home in a well-to-do suburb north of the city. Two American flags adorned the yard. The prospect's mom greeted him wearing an American flag T-shirt. "I want you to know we support you," she gushed. Rivera soon reached the limits of her support. "Military service isn't for our son. It isn't for our kind of people," she told him. DBAHO
Yep, we're struggling for numbers in the army down here ATM, looks like they may give the go ahead for females to join the force as well very soon.

innersanctum
There is a big difference between an Army Soldier and a Marine. I know there is a grey area for civilians but there really shouldn't be out of respect for both services. Each member of their respective services work hard to earn the title and calling a Marine recruiter an Army recruiter or vice versa, is insulting to their chosen profession. Texsox
QUOTE(innersanctum @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 11:57 AM) There is a big difference between an Army Soldier and a Marine. Each member of their respective services work hard to earn the title and calling a Marine recruiter an Army recruiter or vice versa, is insulting to their chosen profession. Repaired. Thank you for pointing that out. I wonder if the recruiter saw the nice picture of President Bush on the way out.
