Soxpranos
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 06:46 PM) Ozzie and KW are responsible for what's in our stable right now. Just look at what guys like Francoeur have done for the Braves this year. Why not allow Brian Anderson the chance to contribute to the MLB team. We desperately need some right handed power off of the bench. Dude .. I was gonna post the same thing, but decided not to. Braves have 11 rookies on the team. 4 on Offense that are every day players... they produce given the chance. Sox are always gun shy on bringing prospects to the majors , unless they are on fire in the Minors. Great point Fathom
fathom
Haha, why the hell did Garland start this inning? Even DJ is criticizing Ozzie now. Especially considering our lead in the division, Ozzie really needs to have better decision making on when to pull his starters. What could possibly have been accomplished by letting Garland start that inning?
Guest JimH
Dont worry, at soxfest KW promised that the money we didnt spend in FA over the winter would be like money saved so we can make the big trade for the stretch run. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not sure, was that before or after Pierzynski, Iguchi, etc.? southsideirish71
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 06:48 PM) Game over, flip flip flip... Time to dismantle your crew Nitetrain. Crede is back to Cruddy. .100 BA with a .156 OBP. He is worse than he was in May. And that is saying something.
3 BeWareTheNewSox 5
QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 06:48 PM) WHY IS GARLAND STILL IN? This game is just about over, save his f***ing arm There's a real good chance you'll need the bullpen tomorow and on Monday. That's why I have no problem with leaving Buerhle in last night. quickman
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 07:41 PM) Hawk is silent again tonight on his "where would he play" BS regarding Griffey. He actually started popping that off in a game Timo was batting fifth as a DH. Thats it we won't get him. He loves griffey said he was the best player in the nineties. To me this means KW and Ozzie privately said we won't get him so start talking up the team we have. If he thinks Everett or Dye is better than Griffey than he is an idiot. Flash Tizzle
Ozzie fails to remove Garland prior to this inning, so as if one cue, he surrenders another run. I suppose now we'll score 4 runs and fall short the one given up this inning.
WilliamTell
NEVER SAY NEVER, we still got time. I know it's wishful thinking but it's not like we haven't scored 5 in an inning before.

I don't know why all the optimism that we'll get Griffey Jr. now. The Reds owner turned down the deal two weeks ago. It's not like much has changed. nitetrain8601
QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 06:50 PM) "Ace" You're right. We have no ace. Hopefully they'll just call the game instead of letting this onslaught continue. We would've just gotten a meaningless run in the 9th. End this game so we won't have to be put through s***. So much for good pitching beating good hitting.

All I'm asking for is the Sox to make the playoffs. You get there, and you never know what can happen. I know 99 pct of this board thinks it's a given we get there. I must be in that one percent that doesn't have the same confidence.

Guest JimH
So much for good pitching beating good hitting. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Right, this one game disproves that age old adage. Hey isn't it true if you call up a guy after Sept 1 vs. before Sept. 1, it doesn't count as a year against their service time? Does anyone think that maybe that's why Brian Anderson isn't up here yet? Any takers?
