UofIChiSox
I read IlliniBoard as well as this board, and the Rush recruitment is just like the Griffey trade. Let me know about it when something ACTUALLY HAPPENS!!! Rush would be a huge addition to any team, there's no question about it.

Thats very debatable because Illinois will be a better team than Indiana next year. But I can guarantee that Rush would be much more prepared for the NBA playing under Weber as opposed to Davis. The only reason to go to Indiana is if Davis guaranteed a starting spot to Rush because he wouldn't be a lock to start at UI.

I'm willing to bet we're at the very least a sweet 16 team with DJ and Marco.
Buehrle>Wood
There is going to be a lot less exposure going to Indiana when compared to going to either Illinois or Kansas. Both of which are likely to have almost all of their games Nationally Televised. Also, Illinois is already a national title contender with what they are returning. Kansas may have some questions, but have been great the last couple of years. Their still expected to be good. Indiana, on the other hand, will likely struggle to make the tournament again. He's made it known that he wants to be one and done. Stocks rise in March, something Indiana isn't certain to even be playing in.

I think you're severely underrating what Indiana's going to do this year. And you may be overrating them just as every Indiana team overrated them last year before the season started. I do however think you guys will make the tourney and a Sweet 16 is possible with the right matchups.

Indiana runs an NBA style offense because Davis is so infatuated with the pros.

He'd get more at IU than ILL. i expect indiana to be much improved next season, but i think that statement is highly debateable. regardless of their play next year, illinois is coming off of a national title game appearance and will feature one of the most recognizable players in the nation. they will start the season ranked higher than iu, and imo will get more pub early on. whether that is maintained depends on their success, but i also think people are grossly underrating the kind of team illinois will have next year. Cerbaho-WG
IU has the chance to be a powerhouse this year, but that's assuming the offense actually moves around and stuff which happens once in a blue moon. With a front line of Marco and DJ and two seven footers coming off the bench, IU is going to own the boards every single game. Vaden needs to really step it up this year, though. Elite Eight berth no doubt for Illinois this year. I think the team that they'll put on the floor will be a LOT better than most people believe. And if Rush comes, oh god watch out. Dee and Rush running all over the floor would be sick.

SnB
QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 04:20 PM) ^ Exactly my thoughts illinois is going to field a very athletic, young (somewhat) team this year. We're lacking a "great" shooter ala deron/luth, this year. I could see this team being very streaky. I am expecting somewhere in the sweet 16 area this year. UofIChiSox
Every year Indiana is supposed to be good, and every year they underachieve, the reason, in my opinion is that Mike Davis can't get his players to play well together. There was an article a few weeks ago in ESPN the Magazine about Deron Williams and Bracey Wright that mentioned that Davis told Bracey to shoot the ball at least 20 times a game. What'd that do? it hurt Bracey's draft stock because he took so many bad shots and it hurt Indiana's team because Bracey was forcing up crap. At Indiana, Rush might get the spotlight, but they have a good amount of talent there already with White, Vaden, and Killingsworth. They'll have a good team, should be somewhere in the upper middle of the big ten, but Mike Davis will keep them from doing too much.
Buehrle>Wood
QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 09:17 PM) no. Why? They are easily one of the best 15 teams in the country. A National Title this year would certainly not be out of reach.
