Owens>>Ozuna>>>>Timo

Its funny how Ozzie plays favorites. Owens cant play here because the difference between AA and the majors. But Jenks could make the jump and Buerhle made it also.

I predict more Timo and more Ozuna at leadoff. Our offense is going to go into critical mode with that as our leadoff core.

Ozuna doesnt have an ounce of patience at the plate.

And Timo has no speed.

Nothing like facing the Twins and Yankees with Timo or Ozuna in LF.

Call up Anderson and put him in left.

Bat Arow and Gooch one and two. It stops the smartball, but come on we havent played smartball in over a month anyways. So who are we kidding.

Arow was stellar in the leadoff last year.

Anderson can get some ABs. Lets see what the kid can do.

I don't want to rush Owens

I'd like Timo to fill in, but it doesn't solve the lead off issue, but it isn't really an issue when you've got nothing to play for until October.

This would be a Huge advantage for us to have a rested Pods in the playoffs with fresh legs, of course, all under the assumption that it's not a long DL stint, get him off the DL before Sep 1st, but you might not need to play him until after the 1st week or two of September, and tell him not to go SB crazy

Timo hasn't done a single thing to deserve to start for two weeks.

Hard to do something when on the bench. This is more about filling in, as this stretch of the season is basically garbage time, and I don't want to see Pablo in LF anymore after his weakass effort tonight. What have any of the possible replacements 'done' to deserve a start?

He's had more than enough opportunities to earn the right to start. You do realize he's like 4 for his last 30?

I like that idea, give Anderson a chance and lets see what he can do. Who knows maybe he plays well like Miguel Cabrera did and give our offense a lift. Or if plays well, replae Timo on the bench.

Last week we had Timo DHing. If ozzie trusts that guy to DH and still bat in the low 200s then who do you think he is going to give the call for leadoff.

Timo will leadoff tomorrow, book it.

Timo might be the worst player in MLB history to bat leadoff and 5th in the same week.

Timo and his sexy .221 BA and sexy .278 OBP surely scream leadoff hitter.

Pablo is hitting .281 with a .320 OBP. But lets check out what these guys have done since the ASB.

Timo is batting a spectacular .167BA and has a sexy .234OBP since the ASB. With him at the leadoff Corey Patterson looks like a HOF.

Pablo has a .267BA with a .290OBP since the ASB.

Either of them for more than say 2 games in a row will really criple this awful offense.

In no way am i drawing comparisons based on ability, but there have been several hitters to go from AA to the majors, for full time or just as an injury replacement. Cabrera did it, Francoeur just did, there have been others too i just cant think off the top of my head. Owens is the prototypical leadoff guy and if Pods needs to go to the DL it wouldnt hurt to bring him up and try it out. It'd be hard to think he'd do worse than Timo.

Well, I just mentioned the possibility of Owens getting called up to someone who has seen him play many games this season, and his response was "might as well call up Willie, because they're the same player". According to this person, Anderson should definitely be called up if Pods goes to the DL.

They are not going to make the decision until Monday to put Pods on the DL. Which means we are short handed in the bat dept until at least tuesday.

The following things will piss me off.

Bringing Willie back up then batting him lead off.

Batting Timo lead off.

Batting Ozuna lead off.

My prediction is Timo is the leadoff.

We need someone who will teach our meathead hitters how to take a pitch, work a count, and to stop swinging at crap over their head. Our current hitting instruction is incapable of teaching this. We have long looping swings and have become a myopic homer or nothing team.

2004 offense is back.

We shouldn't stress the leadoff hitting spot too much. Like everyone says, that leadoff hitter is only guaranteed to lead off once a game (or more if Crede and Uribe are batting in front of them!). There's no problem just moving up Iguchi in the order, and put Rowand in the 2nd spot.
