What exactly is there left to debate?

 

That "most" means better than 90%?

 

That there are close to 1200 players on ML rosters?

 

That 90% of that is 1080? Even if you assume that most teams are 1-2 players shy of the 40 man it's still over 1000 players.

 

That on average there are less than 250 OR & UR waivers per year?

 

So what does that leave? ML & SPL waivers. ML can be withdrawn & SPL can't . If a team claims a player off SPL waivers they just have to pick up the contract. No cost in talent other than the impact the new player has on your budget & your roster. So what's reasonable for a SPL waiver count? 60?

 

Add it all up & you're still looking at 700 shy of what is needed to say "most" players. Taking the Newsday article into consideration you're still 350 players shy. It's reasonable to say "LOTS" or even the "MAJORITY" but not most.

In the lastest Cincinatti Enquirer where the Reds COO is denying the Griffey rumors, he said that 800 players have cleared waivers. Considering that doesn't count all those that were claimed, its just another source making your continuing denial laughable.
