I just thought of this: This game reminds me even more of recent August collapses against the Twins because it's another game where our power goes silent. How many times the last few years did we just get shut down by the Twins since we couldn't hit homers? Also, how many times would they get big homers from guys like J. Jones? Thankfully, we have a huge lead on them.

Carlos Silva would be the best number 3 if he's a number 3. But I'm not sure he is. He's probably the number 2. So Radke's a really good 3 too.

I would say Silva is the Twins 2nd best starter. He has been consistent all year. 7 inning plus in most of his starts. Look at Silva walk per inning pitch rate. unbelivable. The only knock is that he is not as seasoned as the other starters/ If that even matters. Radke has been pitching better of late, but he gets rocked in the first inning alot

Santana

Silva

Radke

Others

Yah. Somebody needs to fire the guy in Philly who said that Eric Milton was worth more than Carlos Silva.

not to mention rolen for polanco and bud smith...granted rolen needed to go....

This really sucks. This offense sucks and I havent seen consistent situational hitting in a long time. We cant keep on relying on our SP to allow 3 ER each game. One of these days someone is going to blow their arm out cause Ozzie is gunna have them in there longer than they should because they have a chance at the W. The weather is nice and warm, a hitters delight and a pitchers nightmare, and we cant muster up any runs. Im really scared when October comes around with the 40-50 degree weather and we face consistent pitching, what will our hitting be then? 1 run, 2 runs? 2 hits, 3 hits?

lets just hope somebody (coughcredecough) doesnt pull a josevalentin and drop a popup that would win the game allowing the twins to have a second life and hit a go ahead hit against us

Has anybody ever caught this trend the last few years against the Twins the last two years where early in the year we would knock Radke around 1 or two starts but come August or september he would just dominate us.

It sounds like Baker and Liriano are going to get starts in September

Mays has a club option and Loshe is a free agent or arbitration eleigble. For what I understand the Twins are going to keep one of them. Baker has 2 starts already this year and looked impressive

if this was still the 02 club who had like 1 solid pitcher, id say id take a shot on lohse this offseason, hes having his best year thus far, and his career has garland written all over it

111%

this is the time when it hurts to not have podsednik on the team, id feel alot better about being able to muster a run if he was atop the order
