fathom
Uribe's taking two pitches against Radke? That's not very aggressive baseball. It just seems like we're playing not to lose, rather than go out and make things happen.

DBAHO
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 10:43 AM) Radke's got a good change up tonight. Yep and he won't walk a batter all night would be my guess too.

It just seems like we're playing not to lose, rather than go out and make things happen. When he had Everett 3-1, he threw him a changeup out of the zone that Carl swung at. Go get 'em, Brian! fathom
Anyone agree with me that if we lose tonight, I'd rather we be no-hit? Of course, I'd be extremely pleased if we won tonight. However, if we're going to lose, rather it be an embarrassing loss to hopefully shake this team up.

If you want that, you want Cleveland to start winning. Tough to wake up and throw it all out there when you have a 12 game lead. But I don't think they aren't trying. The offense just sucks right now. Edited August 17, 2005 by jphat007

I've never seen more articles written about a team planning their playoff rotation/resting players while there were still about 50 games left in the season. As Al Davis says, Just Win Baby! I know it's harsh to say, but I'm rooting for a season-ending injury to Timo. If that makes me a bad fan, so be it. However, I think it's in the Sox's best interest if he was off this roster for good.

Thats fine for you and me, but I don't think players think like that. Why should there be a sense of urgency when you have a 12 game lead in August? Why not just wait to have that sense of urgency in the 3rd week of September. But I don't think they aren't playing hard. THey just aren't playing well. There's a sense of urgency because one bad stretch of games against the Twins, and this lead can go from 15 to 6 or 7 very fast. We still have a fairly tough schedule the rest of the way against some very good hitting teams. I have no faith in our ability to outslug teams.
