hammerhead johnson
QUOTE(I HATE AMERICA! @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 09:39 PM) Bears should cut Benson. But it was a damn good post.
SuperSteve
QUOTE(WSFAN35 @ Aug 20, 2005 -> 10:42 PM) Benson isn't biting on the final offer. He essentialy has ruined the start of his NFL career. He can't go back to college. He'll reenter the draft next year, get picked a lot lower and won't get anywhere near the amount of money he was offered this year. Terrible decision on his part. Personally, I could care less if he's on the Bears. f*** em. Yeah, right now I feel the same way.
Kyyle23
QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Aug 20, 2005 -> 02:34 PM) Turner is one of the boobs of hte last decade. Ohh god. Duke, stop drinking that SIU water, you must be on a boil order. Turner is the last OC the Bears had that actually produced.
Soxfest
Aug 21 2005 BENSON DEAL COMING SOON? Word out of Chicago is that agent Eugene Parker finally has contacted Bears G.M. Jerry Angelo regarding the stalled contract negotiations between the team and No. 4 overall draft pick Cedric Benson. Parker, we're told, is blaming the impasse on someone within Benson's inner circle of advisors. Parker, we're also told, has advised Benson that the team's "final offer" from a week or so ago is sufficient, and that it should be accepted. But in order to allow Ced-Ben to save face, Parker has asked the team for a mild "sweetener." If the team complies, Benson could be signed by Monday or Tuesday. Angelo isn't happy with the development, since in the end the team will be giving Benson the same deal it was prepared to make several weeks ago, which would have provided Benson with more time to learn the blitz protection packages and other nuances that make the position of tailback far more complicated than merely getting the ball and running for daylight. chimpy2121
I still don't like him as a person but I just hope that he'll be ready to go for Fridays game (I highly doubt it but I would like to see him get more than 1 game before it counts), and I hope he will be the player that the Bears think he will be. Alienate him from his teammates and make him out to be a totally evil person! Are you aware of the fact that the best HB in the NFL (LaDainian Tomlinson) held out until 1 week before the regular season started? He obviously deserves however total public embarrasment and to be harrassed every second he is alive.

Are you aware of the fact that the best HB in the NFL (LaDainian Tomlinson) held out until 1 week before the regular season started? He obviously deserves however total public embarrasment and to be harrassed every second he is alive. You do know they embarrass and haze rookies right? Especially high first round picks and even more so to those that holdout. They also usually make rookies pay for everything seeing how they got a nice signing bonus. The Bears players will most likely haze him and go through the usually rookie routine. Patrick Ramsey was taped to the uprights and drenched in water when he reported to camp after his holdout. This will be nothing out of the ordinary. You seriously have to get off Cedric Benson's nuts.

Goldmember
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 21, 2005 -> 10:33 PM) For me at least, all will be forgotten if he preforms on the field. If he is a bust, then he looks like a jag, but if he were to win ROTY, or help the Bears to the playoffs, you all will fall in love with Benson. agreed. if he performs, he's in the clear. Soxfest
POSTED 5:27 p.m. EDT, August 25, 2005 BENSON, ANGELO MEETING Amid rumors that No. 4 overall draft pick Cedric Benson is in Chicago, our official Bears mole tells us that Benson and G.M. Jerry Angelo currently are meeting face to face. Per the mole, Benson wouldn't sign his rookie deal absent a sit-down with Angelo. So agent Eugene Parker arranged the rare one-on-one between draft pick and General Manager. In recent days, Parker has tried to lay blame for the ongoing impasse on Benson. We reported over the weekend that Parker was recommending that Benson accept the team's so-called final offer
