thats a debateable argument. It's not gonna help your 'performance' persay, but it will assist you in maximizing your talent, 'psyching yourself up'.  I think its more valuable in a football or hockey game than for baseball.

I took some stuff a couple years ago when I was looking to get lean. It had ephedra in it and one thing I remember is that it gave me the energy to run a lot longer. I went from 2 miles to 4 in less than 2 weeks with ease.

So far Canseco has not been wrong.

But past performance does not predict future performance.

In his book, Canseco said that Tejada and Giambi were doing them during Canseco's second stint with the A's. He even talked about Tejada's power numbers making a large jump once he got into the big leagues.

Another thing to note, Canseco claims that there latin American's are more likely to use steriods than any one else. This would sound racist, but Canseco put himself in that category, and talked about how Tejada's family was so poor and who would not use steriods if it meant making enough money so their family never had to work again.

I really like Tejada as a player, but something has to be said about the decline of his numbers in the last month.

I see that after I made my Tejada guess a rumor came out that supported it.

;)

You know, I think there are quite a few lurkers here, because I have made rumors in the past that have come up other places.

I think that, with Futuresox and a few other members here with "inside" information sometimes, that people visiting here can take our speculation as a quotable rumor.

Canseco's comments aren't racist, but they are wrong. Is he implying that there aren't baseball players in this country who are so poor and desperate that they might juice to get an edge?

Everyone has heard the story about how Sammy Sosa supposedly dropped out of grade school to shine shoes on the streets in the DR.

There's poverty everywhere, it's just a lot worse is some places.

Didn't Tejada win the HR derby last year?

I'm not a betting man, but if I was, I'm betting this is all hogwash.

I'd put myself in the same boat as you...the odds of this leaking out, and of MLB releasing 2 names at the same time, is just too remote.

The 1 thing that does make me curious is the timing...when the Bush Administration wants to release bad news, they do so sometime around 4:30-5:00 EST on a Friday, because that's after most of the major evening news shows have formatted their Friday shows, and because the Saturday papers are the least read of any during the week. It's usually pretty fair cover for bad news.

So does that mean that I can just make up a rumor and it will spread? Hmm...

Ephedra in a weight loss pill, a la Stacker 2 or Hydroxcut worked wonders when I took it years ago. The ban of ephedra ruined that stuff and made it worthless. Just not the same.

I read a few months ago that the ban on ephedra was lifted, but is very controlled now. Not over the counter.

The entire Oakland A's starting lineup has tested positive and will be suspended on day 1 of the playoffs.

That one has to be true since it is in green and that could only mean "Offical A's Letterhead" is being used.

Increases heart rate

It definitely works but it does put a lot of stress on the heart, and it was suspected that it led to the death of Korey Stringer. I think it's only used by perscription for people with a drastic need to lose weight in a controlled situation.

If that's the case, please ban the guy who started this.

I don't see why that would be necessary. He was just telling us what he was told by his source, which was supposedly from inside MLB. If he did anything wrong, it was that he betrayed the trust of his source by telling the world...but that is between them.

I have no reason to believe that he's lying about his source, so I'd just assume that the source was wrong on his info.
