LosMediasBlancas
May I ask, whyClemens would be so shocking? The guy has gotten bigger and bigger as he's gotten older and older. He's over 40 and still huge. How about the 'intensity' on the mound? Intensity is one thing, throwing a broken bat at Piazza for no reason could be roid rage. bkmoney
Wait hold on now. Selig was on PTI last week I think and they asked him if there were any more big names that have tested postive, and he said specificly said there was one young player who had tested positive. Now was Selig just not telling everything? or is this report not true? Because there haven't been any more announcements to my knowledge about that player. The appeal process must have been very very fast for the stories to work together.

fathom
QUOTE(tpezz27 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 07:25 PM) No I think he started to take them again after he couldn't hit without them! Nowhere did I say he just started to take them now, don't be so ignorant! Your post made it seem like the reason Palmeiro started taking steroids was cause he was struggling this season and he wanted to reach 3000 hits. I'm pretty sure that's how everyone else read it also.

I'm pretty sure that's how everyone else read it also. Well thats not how it was meant to be taken. I believe he was on them the whole time, stopped taking them and couldn't hit at all, so he took them again so he could get to his 3000 hits! Next time ill make it more clear for everyone... my bad! Pauly8509CWS
Dont you think that the OF'er would be Gabe Kapler, who mysteriously signed to play in Japan, and now is back? I know you said big names but Kapler is the obvious choice for me...
BlackBetsy
I would be very surprised if this wasn't someone talking out their butt. This information is VERY closely held by the Commissioner's Office and doubt it would get out, especially after the Palmeiro situation. I know you said big names but Kapler is the obvious choice for me... Kapler is a monster bodybuilder. He's been huge since he came up through the minor leagues. I don't think he's on roids...especially since his numbers haven't shot up. There is a certain guy on the Red Sox whose power is way down since the testing this season. It's a good bet that he has experienced with AAS in the past, but I would bet a hefty amount that he is doing no such usage now.

You beat me to the punch on that. If there's anyone on Boston, you could be accused of taking steroids, it's that guy. I remember him with Texas and Detroit. He was a monster back then. I think we're jumping the gun. This is all speculation. I'll wait for an official announcement comes out. It definitely would tarnish an already great baseball season if two more people test positive. :headshake

Don't be so naive. And when he did so...it somehow turned out to be the exact same steroid that Canseco said he helped Palmeiro with? Milkman delivers
QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 02:48 PM) Dont you think that the OF'er would be Gabe Kapler, who mysteriously signed to play in Japan, and now is back? I know you said big names but Kapler is the obvious choice for me... All the rumors I've heard (from Red Sox fans and in Boston) say that Kapler took the time in Japan to clean out his system. Every single Boston fan I know, which excludes redandwhite apparently, believed Kapler was on steroids. Being a "gym rat" is absolutely no defense against steroids. You have to work out to get the results, and the more you work out, the better the results.
Buehrle>Wood
I could be wrong on this, but I believe the original post had the names of the guys, until he was asked to edit it, ruling out Kapler or whoever else.
