Both Clemens and Damon have told the press that these rumors are false.

FWIW. :huh

Hmm...Well by denying the rumors all they have to say is they have "not yet heard they are to be suspended" which would be a truth even though they are aware they tested positive.

For what it's worth (FWIW)

Weird...

"I just think people want to start something with anybody," said Damon, who entered Thursday's game against the Angels hitting .331, best in the American League. "I'd be more than happy to take any test. There's no way. If I tested positive for something, it's going to be because someone threw something in a drink or did something like that."

Courant Sports- Red Sox Article

I relinked it because your link...well didn't work

Another Interesting tidbit from that article IMO:

It's uncertain where the rumor originated. Astros pitcher Roger Clemens and Cardinals shortstop David Eckstein were also mentioned as players who tested positive.

 Eckstein? Hmmm...because he hit three home runs this month? :huh

....or because he's up to a stagerring 175 lbs. soaking wet and with a pocket full of change? That HAS to be a joke.

As hard as it is to feel bad for these guys who test positive, I would feel bad for Eck because he is going through a lot of family junk off the field.

Him testing positive could expose a hole in the system. Maybe there is something in a brand of protien that is showing up. MLB needs to educate all the players on this. Not just the Latin guys, everyone.

I see your point Brian. It's precisely because players don't know what may taint test results that they should either not take anything, or do what Mark B. claims Sox players do and that is to have everything tested by the coaching staff before taking it.

The fault still falls on the player, IMO.

I read on the mlb.com message board that livan hernandez and tejada were also going to be named this afternoon around 3ish are time....im hoping this is all a bunch of BS tho, this would f*** the game of baseball up badly

Links are your friend...

I'm having a hard time right now sorting through all these rumors...So are they going to announce all of those fifty names that didn't exist this afternoon? Talk about a s***-storm.

The game of baseball will be better once all this goes down, if a number of big names get caught, new rules will be drawn up immediately. This is the best thing that can happen in the long run.

Remember that Alex Sanchez was one of the first players nailed this year. Steroids don't always make you big.

In fact, the most important parts...
