Soccer Players...

Recommended Posts

Not many white guys on our soccer teams, usually the white/black kids stuck to football and the mexicans played soccer, so I stuck to my 4 years of football and left the soccer to the guys who played it since birth. We had a pretty decent soccer team and a pretty s***ty football team. The guys on the soccer team could do some absolutely amazing things with a soccer ball.

I miss being in shape. :(

Haha, I am sore as hell from my 1st practice. I shouldn't have eaten all those chips and drank that pop. Surprisingly, my skills were sharper than expected after such a long layoff. I also got my cleats in today....whoot whoot!

Right forward.

We played a 3-5-2 but it was really like a 3-1-4-2 if you know what I mean.

Yeah, I know. We play a 3-4-3 when in full strength. Yesterday I played Left-Back D and Goalie but I'll probably be playing left mid most because just about everyone on my team is left footed and I'm good with both.

My HS team won state last year, but I wasn't on the team. I played soccer as a little kid and I wasn't that bad, but I just found it boring. Too much running too.

Solution....learn to be a good goalie.

I'm still carrying the scars of a pick up game against kids while on holiday. I was never any good at scool, couldn't run and kick at the same time! Rugby was my game. I used to play on the wing becaude I was fast. Running marathons (slowly) is my only sporting outlet these days.

Studs...I see. Well, I got a deal on a pair of pimp-ass studs! :lolhitting

Getting soccer shoes was actually one of my favorite parts of playing soccer during high school. At that time, Mexican League players were beginning to distinguish themselves by wearing soccer shoes of all sorts of different colors, and usually team colors, when black was still the norm...

During the '98 World Cup, one of the players that I used to like came out with green, white, and red shoes, and I couldn't take my eyes off of them. I went to Mexico that summer to visit family, and I was able to find them being sold, so I bought a pair.

After that I was hooked on the brand. One of the things I like about Concord brand, and other Mexican brands, is that you can get the shoes that big-name soccer players in Mexico wear, but they're relatively inexpensive. I was getting mine for about $40 a pair, and they were great-quality, along with getting to see the players wear them on TV. I wore these the following season, metallic silver on the outside, a powder blue on the inner part, and flueoresent yellow studs and emblem.

I also got a black pair with flueoresent yellow emblem and a white pair with a blue emblem after that. :gosox3:

I was gonna buy a pair of pink and white Diadora studs to be a little showoff and as a joke but I decided to get a better pair. I used to have a pair of lime green Addidas that I would wear to soccer practices just to showoff with the guys. Good times.
