DBAHO
Just throwing it out there, yeah he wouldn't be the most popular addition of all time. Oh he's not a lefty hitter. My bad; The Rangers are reportedly exploring the possibility of trading Phil Nevin before the August 31 deadline. Nevin's $10 million salary for next season will allow him to clear waivers, at which point the Rangers would be free to deal him. Nevin's struggles and the promotion of Adrian Gonzalez from Triple-A will lead to his having a reduced role in the Rangers' lineup if he stays in Texas. But he's a lefty hitter, and well yeah; Yeah, but he'll never come here.If he didn't want to go to Baltimore, what make us think he'll come to Chicago? I think his family wanted him to stay on the west coast, that's why he didn't leave the Padres when they first tried to dealt him to the O's. He had a no trade clause, 8 teams he would approve a deal to. I assume it's mostly West - Coast teams and we're not on it, but it's the chance to play in the playoffs for him. Let's see, aside from the Padres and Rangers, the teams Nevin will play for: (Just an opinon) 1.Dodgers 2.Giants 3.Diamondbacks 4.Mariners 5.A's 6.Rockies 7.Astros (maybe)

AddisonStSox
...a new, warm body in the lineup? I'm listening.
SouthSidein05
Not intrested in Phil nevin. His power numbers are Way, Way down and he's just another version of Carl Everett. I would rather take a cahnce on a guy like Ibanez. By the Way I'm new here.

Ozzie Montana
I'd pass but this offense sucks so much id prolly be tempted to get him.
Rex Hudler
There is a reason Nevin gets moved a lot. He is a royal pain in the ass and NOT someone the Sox need for this team.
nitetrain8601
Didn't Nevin lose his no trade rights when he got traded from the Padres to the Rangers??

Rex Hudler
I believe he simply had a limited no trade clause in his contract. Texas was not one of the teams he selected, which is why he ended up there.

The Critic
I'm thinking the Cardinals might sniff around Nevin as a Plan B kinda guy if the price isn't too high. Since Rolen's gone for the year and all. Although isn't Nevin a pretty awful defensive third baseman?
