VAfan
Between Everett's dings, Podsednik being out, and now Konerko, why in hell's name have the Sox had worthless Jon Adkins on the roster since the end of July. Ross Gload could have played most of the past 3 weeks and probably helped the club every day. Instead, he's tearing up AAA and we've lost 7 in a row because we have no offense. Sure, maybe Gload's a pathetic loser. But he's all we've got.
Milkman delivers
Yeah, Gload would be great to have. I'm so glad we never got Aubrey Huff or Griffey. I mean, how crappy would that be, right?

Dick Allen
Ross Gload is a career minor leaguer and a major league back up at best. He has been through a few organizations. He had a hot September when nothing mattered last year. Might he have helped had he been on the roster recently? Sure he might have, because frankly the offense couldn't be any worse. But if you are pinning your hopes on an improved and adequate White Sox offense with the addition of Ross Gload, lets just say the Sox have to do better than Ross Gload. He's no better than what's here.
knightni
I'm gonna guess... Charlotte.

WilliamTell
Sure, Gload may be more of a backup Major Leaguer than anything else, but we gotta try something new. I'm even ready to have (gasp) Willie Harris (end of gasp) called up.

And I'm going to keep raising it every time some other guy Gload could replace goes down for a few games. The 3-5 grand slam night at Charlotte by Gload is what triggered my latest outburst. Who would you rather see at bat? Timo Perez, Geoff Blum, or Ross Gload. Sure, Gload is not Ken Griffey, but his production in limited time last year was every bit as good as Lyle Overbay. Look I want Gload to be up as much as anybody, but the fact is this, he wouldn't DH, he wouldn't play 1B, he'd likely only play once or twice a week at the most. Is he going to to put up .300 when he's not playing everyday, I extremely doubt it. Besides, he's probably not going to be with us anyways next year, depending on his contract / options etc.

Starting threads on this board every 3 days about the same topic doesn't seem to be cutting it. Unless, of course, you're trying to convince people of something, or it's somehow thereaputic for you.
