Hot Twins' manager, owner trying to keep heat on Sox

The White Sox will have locker-room fodder to add to the drama of their series against the Minnesota Twins.

The Twins -- winners of eight of their last 10 games, including a three-game sweep last week at U.S. Cellular Field -- think the Sox might be ready to cave in.

"Maybe we can put some fear in them,'' Twins manager Ron Gardenhire told the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "They have a single-digit lead [over the Cleveland Indians] now, so you know they're starting to feel the effects. And that's half the battle, to see how people handle things.''

Star Tribune columnist Jim Souhan wrote that Twins owner Carl Pohlad, who saw Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf at a recent owners meeting, told Gardenhire that Reinsdorf "is squirming.''

The Twins are in third place in the American League Central and trail the Sox by 101/2 games with 10 games remaining between the teams. The season series is split 4-4 so far, with the Sox winning two of three at the Metrodome in April and the Twins having won three of five at U.S. Cellular Field.

I hope he pays extra attention to Lew Ford and the way he pitches to him cause he's been a hot hitter since taking over CF duties. Thats the guy im most worried about. Id also pay more attention to Mauer who over his last six games is hitting .478 with three doubles, a homer, and six runs scored. If Freddy can keep them off the score board I'd like the Sox chances that much more.

In the words of Chapplle "f*** your couch Minnesota" GO SOX

He meant Chapel - as in Billy Chapel, pitcher for the Detroit Tigers, pitched a perfect game at Yankee Stadium a few years ago.

If Garcia goes out and gives up his early runs as usual, this game might be over quickly.

If?

If?

He'll give up 1 or 2 ER in the first two innings; then, he'll lock it down for another 6 or 7 only to give up another 1 or 2 ER in his last inning of work.

:D

Go kick some ass, Freddy! We need a few W's. :gosox1: :gosox4: :gosox1:

LINEUPS...

Ozuna-3b

Iguchi-2b

Everett-LF

Konerko-DH

Rowand-CF

Dye-RF

Pierzynski-C

Uribe-ss

Blum-1B

GArcia-SP

As much as I hate Ozuna playing 3rd base. I like this lineup. I just wish they would of flipped Everett and Rowand. Rowand hits well in that 3rd spot. Konerko would have more protection in the threat of Everett hitting behind him.

Oh well. Score some runs and BEAT SOME TWINKIE ASS

They swept us w/o Sox killer Jacque Jones.  But, unfortunately, he's back.

Also, need to look out for Fat LeCroy, too.  No more giving up HRs to that Tub.

Tubby's splits:

vs. RHP -- .242/.324/.356

vs. LHP -- .333/.441/.655

As long as Garcia doesn't suddenly decide to become a southpaw, we're safe.
