knightni
I love head2head scoring in NFL fantasy. Are we using it?
Spiff
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 10:54 PM) Define standard scoring. It may differ from whatever the yahoo default is... The Yahoo standard is this, which is what basically everyone uses. Passing Yards (50 yards per point) Passing Touchdowns (6) Interceptions (-2) Rushing Yards (20 yards per point) Rushing Touchdowns (6) Reception Yards (20 yards per point) Reception Touchdowns (6) Return Touchdowns (6) 2-Point Conversions (2) Fumbles Lost (-2) Offensive Fumble Return TD (6) Field Goals 0-19 Yards (3) Field Goals 20-29 Yards (3) Field Goals 30-39 Yards (3) Field Goals 40-49 Yards (4) Field Goals 50+ Yards (5) Point After Attempt Made (1) Sack (1) Interception (2) Fumble Recovery (2) Touchdown (6) Safety (2) Block Kick (2) Points Allowed 0 points (10) Points Allowed 1-6 points (7) Points Allowed 7-13 points (4) Points Allowed 14-20 points (1) Points Allowed 21-27 points (0) Points Allowed 28-34 points (-1) Points Allowed 35+ points (-4) His system makes no sense. Your QB gets a point for every completion, which means that is by far the most valuable position. Plus they only get -1 for an interception, where the defense gets 3 points for making the interception. It should be 2 and 2. 5 points for a fumble recovery?? 1 point for a field goal under 19 yards? 3 points for a sack? 7 points for a touchdown and then 1 for a PAT? 8 points? Makes no sense at all. It's gonna screw up everyone's team because the highest rated players in standard leagues aren't necessarily the highest rated in this league. SleepyWhiteSox
I would highly recommend 1 point per carry for RB's if the QB is going to get a point per completion.
Spiff
That doesn't really solve anything though because QB's have 20-30 completions per game, RB's have 20-30 rushing attempts per game, recievers have what, 4-6 catches per game on average? With two flex positions all you need to do is start 2 RB's there and you basically have the week won. That's why we need to get rid of the stats for completions/rushes/receptions altogether. me = :banghead
Credepopsup
Can this be done? Would it work in your opinion? 1pt per completion (25 a game) 1pt per rush (25 a game) 4 or 5pts? a catch (4 to 6 catches = 16-24 or 20-30 pts a game) If that can't be done, or it wouldn't work, then I agree that we should scrap the points for these 3 catergories completely. Lets just make the scoring as fair as possible. Edited September 5, 2005 by Credepopsup

Lets just make the scoring as fair as possible. 2 points for a reception would be more than enough, in my opinion. I kinda like seeing high scores anyways, but WR's aren't really supposed to score more than QB's, and certainly not more than RB's, in FF. That's why below-average starting RB's are drafted before above-average WR's. I just DO NOT want to see lots of WR's scoring on par with RB's and elite QB's since it's easier to stock up on WR's with more positions available for them. Anyways, that's my two cents. I'm all for whatever everyone agrees is fair. I just thought we were going back to default. And another thing I've seen is -1 for an incomplete pass. Just thought I'd throw that out there as a possible option.
Spiff
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 04:33 PM) I just thought we were going back to default. I did too, but for some reason the commish likes being obstinate. I would leave this league if we hadn't already drafted, it's going to be a mess once the season starts.
