DBAHO
Things are getting pretty ugly between these two, Paul DePodesta's probably gonna hav to trade one eventually unless they can patch things up (which I don't is gonna happen with these 2 ego's.) Anyways, if the chance came that we could acquire Bradley for say an OF prospect (remember the Franklyn Gutierrez deal), or trade for Kent (where would he field though), would you do it? It's not gonna happen, but hell I'm just chucking up possibilities for the hell of it, to try and get this board going again.
southsider2k5
Kent reminds me a lot of AJ from the stories. He is a guy who won't tolerate half assed play, and I can respect that. Milton Bradley is an egotistical piece of s*** who I want no part of.
BigSqwert
I'd take either one at this point. They can't be any worse than the crap we're throwing out there (hitting-wise of course).

EvilJester99
I would take Jeff Kent because he would light a fire under some of these dead asses...I would mostly have him DH and spell Gooch from time to time.
DBAHO
QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 11:42 PM) I would take Jeff Kent because he would light a fire under some of these dead asses...I would mostly have him DH and spell Gooch from time to time. I don't think Kent would take to being the DH very well, he'd want to be in the field everyday. Could move him to 1st and Paulie to DH if he's re-signed. bjm676
There's a reason Cleveland traded Bradley. As for Kent...you raise some good points.
WilliamTell
I'd take Kent easily, I love his mentality.
Kalapse
QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 01:21 PM) There's a reason Cleveland traded Bradley. As for Kent...you raise some good points. There's a reason the Expos traded him to Cleveland when he was one of their top prospects and producing on the major league level. Milton Bradley for Zach Day at that time was extremely one sided. Punch and Judy Garland
Kent has one year left but he won't pass through waivers as his deal is reasonable enough that Minnesota, Houston, The Mets, and a slew of others would want to claim him
knightni
Milton Bradley = Barry Bonds without the stats. Kent doesn't like anyone but him to be arrogant.
longshot7
Forget everything you think you've heard about Uncle Miltie - he's a gamer who just wants to win. Does he get emotional at times? Yes, but since when is that a bad thing. He reminds me of AJ. I'd trade for him in a heartbeat, but of course then the question is: WHERE WOULD HE PLAY???? Antonio Osuna
Jeff Kent hit the only foul ball I've ever caught at a baseball game. Brewers/Astros at Miller Park in 2004. Do I love him for that? Yes. Do I want his cancerous growth in my clubhouse? No. We have a 2B and a DH already.
SuperSteve
Calling Bradley and idiot and so on fits...Bradley takes it, because he is black and Kent is white, as racist. Calling an idiot an idiot fits in my book.
mochigon
Anyways, if the chance came that we could acquire Bradley for say an OF prospect...would you do it? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dye for Bradley straight up. Why? Because Bradley is better defensively, faster, hits good Righties (by far this team's biggest weakness), and is an All-Star if you take him out of Chavez Ravine and plunk him smack-dab into USCF. Cheaper, too.

JUGGERNAUT
I think Kent would accept being DH for the next two months if it could get him a ring.
aboz56
Just because Kent is a slight redneck who speaks his mind and doesn't care if he steps on people's toes doesn't make him a bad guy. In fact, I give the guy props for not bowing down to egomaniacs like Bonds and Bradley. I think Kent would fit right in on our team simply because he would get along with Ozzie due to the fact that they are both NO BS kind of guys. Personally, I think Jeff Kent is one of the best offensive 2B to ever play the game and is vastly undervalued by many who follow the game. The guy just flat out produces runs year after year.
