Rex Hudler
"Were it me, and I was the parent of this kid I would have sought to file charges against Penny, I would go after him with every resource I have and seek to have him branded a child molester." Whoever made this comment just doesn't get it. If they were that uptight, they would never allow their kid in the locker room in the first place. The locker room is basically a fraternity house. Naked pictures of women, constant cursing, talk of women and sexual conquests, pranks and jokes, even porn. Most MLB batboys are 18-21 years old, not 14 like you might see at a Minor League game. The batboys have clubhouse duties and work for tips as well, doing whatever is needed, from cleaning up, helping with laundry, shining the players shoes, or just running errands for the players. Whoever made that comment just doesn't understand the dynamics of a locker room. I'm not saying that everything that goes on in there is right, but to act shocked is pretty naive. Punch and Judy Garland
Yeah I don't get why someone would feel outrage over the players egging the kid on. It's just male fun, that's all. The bread thing is actually true. I couldn't do it. Lastly, I made it to 89 in the century club before I lost lunch. I still finished the next 11. I remember feeling great at 88 and then....wow. It's a lot of fun to do.

I'm wondering what workplace rules would be in effect for a clubhouse. I cannot believe that US Labor laws do not apply to a major league clubhouse. So I doubt that naked pictures are still up, porn being played, etc. Maybe a generation ago, but if there are employees of the club there, I am certain there is more restraint than in the past. As well as media everywhere. I've only been in one clubhouse and it was very PC.
Rex Hudler
I'm sure with all of the media MLB clubhouses have cleaned things up a little, but you might still be surprised at what you might see if you are there at the right times. Exactly, I'm not doubting the stuff still happens, just not as open as it was before.
NUKE_CLEVELAND
QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 10:01 AM) Bat boys make tons of dough. The White Sox bat boy bought himself a Durango. Losing that 500 means he's gonna have to look elsewhere for money to fill up the gas tank this week.

IlliniKrush
QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 12:43 PM) I once tried to do 100 shots of beer in 100 minutes. Same result as the gallon of milk. I think I got to 60-65, but to tell the truth, I was feeling kind of bad in the teens. It's not really all that much beer, it's the carbonation that catches up with you. And 60 seconds goes unbelievably quick when you don't want it to. :puke One of my friends did this last year, and he went right to bed after it pretty much. I'm still amazed. I can't even do a power hour. I have gotten to about 35-40, and quit. It's rough.
