Ozzie Montana
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 10:06 PM) Bad luck? J. Jones blasted a hanging curveball. Rowand had numerous meatballs to hit tonight, and he was too busy fouling them off over the dugout. Luck didn't make Stewart and Ford catch those balls. If so, then J. Dye got very lucky also. Our offense flat out blows, and our manager has no f***ing clue how to manage a team during a game. What a f***ing insult to Iguchi to get lifted for a ph. Rowand has been really stinking it up lately. If he swings like he did against Rj when he hit the homer, well he'd have more success. fathom
I can't wait until next week when the Rangers are playing home run derby against our starters, and Ozzie is trying to play smallball with Timo.
JUGGERNAUT
http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...milb&pid=435539 Dear Kenny, Please bring up Owens. He can only help. We don't need Adkins. We need Owens. I can't say this enough. We need something to ignite us. No one will help you. You must look within.
southsideirish71
QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 09:16 PM) Rowand has been really stinking it up lately. If he swings like he did against Rj when he hit the homer, well he'd have more success. That was a nice short swing. Like he had last year. When he had power to right and right center. This year, specifically after the padres series, he changed his swing so he can get more around on the ball so he can get lift. Its so f***ing obvious, look at his hands. Last year his stance was very erect, he had a strong L going with his arms. This year his hands are tucked in like Mickey Tettleton. He now has a very pronounced uppercut on the ball. And cannot hit the outside pitch at all.
3E8
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 10:06 PM) A .740 OPS is not good enough for an everyday center - fielder offensively. He's pretty much an automatic out right now. His slugging % is in danger of dropping below .400. Weird that he may finish the season with an OPS not much higher than Podsednik's. southsideirish71
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 09:21 PM) Wisdom from one of our many armchair hitting coaches. Too bad we got rid of Walt Hrniak. But Rowand is a perfectionist. While he fully admits his swing is pretty good right now, Rowand still points to the timing and rhythm of his approach that need to improve in order to catch the ball more out front, get the ball up in the air and drive it on a consistent basis. Thanks for f***ing your swing up. Keep tinkering, just like the rest of our guys. They almost got that ball up in the air and drive it working. southsideirish71
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 09:53 PM) Note to offense: In order to win a game, you need to score a run. We officially have hit rock bottom as an offense. Our TEAM splits for the month of August .228 BA as a team. 2nd worst in all of baseball. The only team worse is the Royals. They are worse by 1 freakin point. .285 OBP THE WORST IN ALL OF THE MAJORS. We are tied for worst with 58 runs. To give you a perspective on how bad this is. The twins whose offense was sucking for most of the month have scored 91 runs. 2nd from the bottom in hits. Last in doubles. BUT HEY WE ARE 6TH IN DONGS WITH 25. So 25 out of 58 runs have been scored via the dong 43%. And our pitching has been stellar. We are third in all of baseball with a 3.64 ERA for the month of August. White Sox Josh
Take a step back. We got shutout by a damn good pitcher today. Santana was awesome. If they get shut out by Mays tommorow than that will bad however a ton of teams have been shutout by Santana.

Big difference between being "not a good" offense, and being just as likely to not score in a game as you are to score a single f'n run. I'm sure we'll see Santana twice more this year, Felix Hernandez on Friday, Kenny Rogers next week, etc.

greg775
I know we suck right now but why the negativity here? Why can't we posters right the ship with our positive vibrations?? Negativity helps nobody. We suck now but we are what we are. It could be worse, it could be January 5 with no baseball and sub zero temps. ENJOY THE REST OF THE SEASON!!! we're still gonna win it. Enjoy the ride; we are gonna right the ship. Says who, everyone that thinks it's every teams given right to go .500, no matter what? Will Iguchi, AJP, Dye, Uribe, Crede, and Rowand all break out of their slumps? What's scary is that PK has been swinging the bat amazingly well lately, and we still can't score.
