Kalapse
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 11:25 PM) Could this have to do with Pods on the DL? Doesn't that open up a spot or something? Pods is on the 15 which means he's still on the 40 man roster. This move has nothing to do with him.

No. Pods is on the 15 day DL. He is still on the 40 man. You are only off the 40 man if you are in the 60-day DL.

JDsDirtySox
Just thinking of players that are out there for the taking because of being DFA'd by their former teams. List Includes: Scott Speizio Mark Bellhorn Danny Graves None of these really excite me.

I wouldn't mind Bellhorn's stick at 3rd base but he sucks defensively there.

redandwhite
Mark Bellhorn, has been one of my favorite Red Sox over the past two seasons. He always seems to catch hot in his first year with a team, and then cool off and while that came true once again, Bellhorn still hasn't been as bad as his strike out numbers and batting average would indicate. His on-base percentage is higher than every player on the White Sox other than Konerko, Iguchi, and Podsednik. Boy, is that a disgusting statistic to see. Anyways, I think he would be a great addition so long as he played everyday for Crede.

But if Ozzie can play Ozuna at 3rd base...
Kalapse
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 11:45 PM) Yeah, Bradley needs surgery. A torn patella tendon will do that to ya.

Kalapse
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 11:48 PM) none. I'm not 100% on this. You'd figure Roto would have something on this by now, plus they havn't even mentioned this on any of the sportscenter updates. I remember seeing him play 3rd base when he was with the Cubs. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/stat...ontext=fielding Bellhorn has a .944 career fielding percentage at 3rd base. That's bad. Because he's bad at 2nd base, so multiply that by being 150 feet further away. That's why.

Bellhorn is acceptable at 2nd base but he is just brutal at 3rd base. He's just not a good defensive player but he can draw a lot of walks and hit a lot of doubles and some homers. But he also strikes out a lot and doesn't hit for average.
fathom
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 04:56 AM) Mark Bellhorn has been excellent at second base over the last two seasons. I must have missed his good defensive player. All I remember were the Red Sox fans chanting "Pokey, Pokey" early during the season cause Bellhorn was a butcher at 2nd base last season.
