CYGarland
QUOTE(the southside tiger @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 07:37 PM) This team just doesnt have it in them. Now the question is, is the October team the April team or the August team? If its the latter, were f***ed. I think we are in the middle. To be honest w/ you I think we are .500 team w/ this offense. We surprised people in the 1st half, and now teams are catching on. Edited August 30, 2005 by CYGarland

the southside tiger
Uhhh, we have 3 games to play in 2 days. We need our pen. Sheesh, I thought that was obvious. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We need wins. So I guess he accomplished part of the mission, but with McCarthy pitching tomorrow, we really needed both parts. MB didnt come through. Why dont we take this one game at a time? Are you really gonna be ok with it if the next three pitchers go seven innings, give up six runs and all get losses? I mean, they save the pen. Mission number one, win the game. Mission number two, keep the team in good shape for upcoming games. If we keep failing mission number one, mission number two will become obsolete. I thought that was obvious. fathom
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 02:39 AM) Actually this game thread wasn't that bad. We were getting our butt kicked, so... there was reason to debate as opposed to the ass-kicking. It didn't get too personal, and I thank you all. Yeah, I don't know what people expect in these game threads if the Sox play as poorly as they do tonight. When you have the AL starting pitcher in the all-star game against Juan F'n Dominguez....you should win that game...period! The whole Buehrle debate got a little long, and I still don't think anyone is saying that he's a bad pitcher.
Heads22
QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 09:45 PM) You can say that again Heads 22. Normally people double post real quick like. I'm so slow it takes two minutes. Now, I hear all the women wish Jason could even just be two minutes worth of slow...
Milkman delivers
Didn't that "clinch" thread come around before that loss to Seattle yesterday? I think I'll blame this on that instead of the team
Whitewashed in '05
Whats up guys, I just got home, I was listening to the radio before the game ended. They said they scored like 3 unearned runs?? I saw Gooch had THREE errors. Errorless this game would have been ours, we have been playing bad d for quite a while now. How bad were Gooch's errors?? Ofcourse they cost us the game but what happened??

A closer game would have had Cordero in earlier, and even though it's possible, I doubt we would have got 3 runs in the 9th inning against him. Then I heard they scored a s*** load of runs on errors so atleast I know that our pitching didn't do too bad.

I thought that was obvious. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So I take you're willing to flame out your bullpen in the first game of the series because that win is just SO important? Seriously, If you starting pitcher is in some trouble in the third inning, are you going to go to the bullpen just so you can have a better chance to win the game? I didn't think so either. The White Sox have a better chance of winning in Texas if they have a fresh bullpen. We have a 4 game series in 3 days at one of the worst parks for pitchers to pitch. We are also throwing a rookie who has not gone 6 innings on the mound for one of these games as well.
fathom
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 02:58 AM) I found it funny however that when we had the tying run at the plate in the ninth, there was I beleive a single post about it. Gooch makes an error and there are 6 pages. I agree, when I got home from work, I was shocked at how there was hardly a post about the 9th inning. It's good to see Uribe get 3 hits tonight. I know we complain we need more offense....but we might as well cheer for who we have on this team, cause that's almost definitely who we'll have the rest of the way. I wish Pods could have come back a week earlier, as maybe it could have given KW and Ozzie enough time to figure out that his influence on the offense likely isn't enough to get his team rolling. GreatScott82
Okay- there defense the last 2 days have looked extremely flat. Have you guys noticed that? Granit Freddy and Mark pitched pretty poorly, there is no excuse for there flat play. Ozzie needs to lite another fired under there ass. He absolutely hates big buck showalter. Lets at least win the next 2 of 3 here and head home with a 6-4 road trip. Only a 7 game lead is starting to make me sweat alittle bit. Hopefully it can go to at least 8 games by the time they come back home.

BigSqwert
I was at the game last night. Not much to get excited about. Baj looked good. I left after the 8th since I had an hour drive back to the small town I am working in. Defense looked awful, Mark didn't look too sharp and the offense was flat once again. I think we had 1 hit through 5 innings. Needless to say a disappointing game. Was nice to hear the bats come alive in the 9th. Too little too late though. BTW - The park is beautiful. If you ever get a chance to see a game there, go for it. I can post a couple pics when I get back home to Chicago. Oh yeah...it was cool to see quite a few Sox fans in attendance.
