QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 02:59 PM)
Winn's hitting .280 with the Giants.  That's not very bad, and a .280 hitter on this team would look amazing (and no, I don't want Winn).  My point is that we need someone.  This offense is wretched.  It is pitiful.  I don't care what KW has to give up from our overrated prospects.  I don't care what money he has to take on.  There has to be someone out there that he can get that's better than some of the garbage we already have.

Can you say Aaron Rowand version 2.0? This month he has an OBP of .300 with a 20/3 K/BB ratio. He's not good enough to be an everyday player for us when we've already got Podsednik, Rowand, Dye and Everett in those 4 spots. And what San Fran give up for him. Jesse Foppert, who has ace like stuff if he's 100% recovered from TJ surgery and Yorvit Torrealba, who has been a real good addition for Seattle as their catcher.

The main weakness is the SS/3B combo. That'll get upgraded in the off-season I'm sure, more likely 3B, unless Uribe can move over there.
