IlliniKrush
http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...ome%2Dheadlines Interesting but i don't know if i want this type of guy on my team
Chisoxfn
I wouldn't deal Garland for him, but I'd be more then willing to deal another prospect for him. I just don't think Everett would have that much value, even with his hot start.

Chisoxfn
That was just proposed by Rogers from what I can see LDF. I just wonder how they could add the salary.

Jim Fainter
I don't want him unless he can HIT.
Chisoxfn
I don't have a problem with Everett. ESPN just had a piece on him and how his attitude has really changed. Imo, he's never been a cancer, just a loaner. And he's got loads of talent. He'd definately be the type of player the Sox offense could use. YASNY
No way in hell can I see trading Garland for him. Boston couldn't give Everett away. As you said Jason, this is Rogers proposal, not Williams. Let's hope Kenny isn't reading the Trib while in Oakland.
Cali
So what would the line-up be with Rogers' proposed deal? 2B Jimenez LF Everett DH Thomas RF Ordonez 1B Konerko CF Borchard SS Valentin 3B Crede C Olivo/Alomar ?????
Chisoxfn
Did he want to send Lee and Garland there? If we send Lee, then send Lee and a AAA pitcher for him. I don't want to trade any of our starting pitchers.

Chisoxfn
Well I do that deal if they can work out a 3 way with Lee going somewhere else and the Sox picking up someone like Sidney Ponson and a prospect. Even then it scares me to move Garland. I'd rather trade Rauch or one of our AAA'ers.
IlliniKrush
I could easily see trading Garland to come back and bite us in the ass
Molto
can't make that trade. although Carl Everett, when he is hitting, would be very big for us since he's a lefty and we can use offense right now, Garland is too valuable still. I mean, our rotation isn't exactly stellar right now. I wouldn't make that trade.
witesoxfan
I could easily see trading Garland to come back and bite us in the ass Agreed...this guy, with his sinker, could be one of the better pitchers in the game someday. He's just got to learn to trust his stuff.
YASNY
Along Garland needs is some confidence. That and a little more seasoningt, and he'll be a quality major league pitcher.
Chisoxfn
Too many forget just how long it takes most pitchers to develop. Some develop almost immediately but that is the exception, not the norm. Garland will be fine.
IlliniKrush
I wouldn't mind acquiring Everett, it's just the asking price of Garland is too much for me

baggio202
guess it depends how important this season is...everett has like 12 homers..thats twice as many as our leader...he could fit in the middle of our line up nicely and send willie harris back to charlotte where he belongs.. here's another way to look at it...if everett could be the difference in winning the division then making this trade would make sense because it would mean we bring back bartolo...if we dont make the trade amd lose the division then we keep garland but bartolo goes elsewhere... so the question is...does everett put us over the top???...id have to think about it cause im not really sure... but i wouldnt write this trade off immediately if it come to pass

I'm with Jas on this one....if we make this deal, Lee goes somewhere else to bring in atleast a solid starter. Ship him to Baltimore for Ponson. Garland for Everett and Lee for Ponson...in this case....are moves I'd make. Normally...I wouldn't make either. However....Everett brings a lefty stick to the middle of the lineup....something we need...and he gives us good defense in LF, probably better than CLee's...or so I hope. Ponson then just fills in Garland's shoes. I hadn't even considered that possibility.

Mathew
He plays center....+ He isn't patient..- He is a swich hitter(most power from left)...+ He is an asshole.....- Prone to all kinds of leg injuries.....- Potential all star any given year.....+ Hits to all fields and can steal some bases.....+ Has played like s***(relatively speaking) last 2 years.....- Is off to a wicked start and was awesome 3yrs ago.....+ Makes too much....- That will do for know, that's what I can think of anyway.
