Wait What!?!

thats like going to the game and not being able to talk s*** to the players...I mean come on even they dont kick you out of the park unless u like threaten to kill the player or piss on his face or something

'Coward' and 'without balls' is small minded. It reduces the standard of a website that is seriously trying to provide an opportunity for intelligent discourse. Why be common, when with a little effort we could be so much more.

Great job McCarthy.  Now, who's going to start the thread asking how many Cy Youngs can he win in your best B. Musberger voice?

No, but he needs to be in the rotation next year. You can't have every single guy in your rotation making $5 million plus. If you can get McCarthy to be a good #4 starter next year (with potential to be a lot better), then that's huge.

Hell, I'm sure Oakland is extremely happy that they're winning with all the young guys -- that group is going to be together for at least three years...

From my viewpoint, his change-up was more of his out pitch tonight than his curveball was.  That was great to see.

When he was getting shelled earlier this year, it was because he had ZERO confidence in his changeup, the pitch that he used as his out pitch in spring training along with that nasty curvebal. This is very good to see.

I'm very, very, very confident that we'll trade Contreras. Along with Marte, they'll be our two chips we use to try and get a corner infielder. And yes, McCarthy should be in the rotation next year. Even if he went 2-10 tonight, I would have said that's in our best interest.

If I called him a coward for the sake of it, that would be small minded. But Im calling him one based on his approach to hitters. Are you going to tell me that JG is a gutsy pitcher? Hes not. I cant believe I even have to defend myself on this one.

agreed...you could see that he made the adjustment with the turnaround in his numbers down in AAA. its encouraging to see a young guy like him make such a quick adjustment.

You said he pitches 'without balls'. You can get your point across without saying that...

But hey, maybe you should get to defending Sean Casey... :rolly

come on now, we can't be policing that strictly. that's just ridiculous, downright ridiculous. you should be upset with yourself for taking him so literally.

wow, mark buehrle got tossed for less than that.

UTTER BULLs*** THAT HE DOESN'T GET TOSSED!  OBVIOUS RETALIATION FOR THE HOMERUNS.

that's what I was wondering. But MB shouldn't have been tossed, so I don't see a need for tossing him even though it was dirty.

One great outting and suddenly Jose is gone and BMac is guaranteed a spot in next years rotation? First, Orlando should be gone instead of Jose, and second, why dont we watch to see if BMac can keep this up? You guys sound like Cubs fans.

Great way to start off at the board. Call us Cub fans...

What? For thinking that someone can get their point across without calling them 'cowardly'?

Wow, simply wow. It's called baseball economics. Nothing like having a starting rotation that is going to make about 35-40 million dollars when your payroll is a little above average. That's a recipe to have a cheap offense.

He does pitch without balls! How is that wrong? Garland is not a gutsy pitcher! Are you happy, is that politically correct and sensitive enough for you? This is pathetic. Dont be so damn sensitive.

Maybe you should take a look at this, just some info on why were being careful.
