Al Lopez Ghost (old)
We close in Cleveland. I'm assuming that we would have clinched first long before that -- but Cleveland could still be in the running for the wild card. The same weekend the Yankees play the Red Sox. (The A's and the Angels will not be playing each other.) Our series could have a huge impact on whom we play in the first round of the playoffs. Eliminate Cleveland, you get the wild card in all likelihood as your opponent. Lose to Cleveland, maybe they get the wild card and we get the winner of the West. I'm just saying that this could get real interesting.
fathom
We don't match up very well with the Indians now. Millwood and C.C. have our number. I'd rather play the Yankees than the Indians. Of course, there's a decent chance that last series of the year could be for the AL Central pennant.
Steve9347
WE'RE f***ING 10-3 AGAINST THE INDIANS THIS YEAR! How do we not match up well againt them? Just bc they are beating up on the Royals, D-Rays, and Tigers right now doesn't mean they are the best team in baseball. Their hitters underperformed for almost the entire first half. How many games did we beat them like 2-1 or 1-0? I think we match up better against the Angels personally. Sure their hitting has picked up. They are playing the dregs of the AL.

I just think the confidence they're gaining lately is really going to spark their offense the rest of the way. Lets hope I'm wrong, and they go back to slumping when they face the Sox, Twins, and A's.
