Kyyle23
El Duque was left in too long. he should never of been in a position to give up 5 runs this inning. Too much trust out of the coaching staff

Kalapse
QUOTE(Misplaced_Sox @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 02:53 PM) I dont think Ozzie understand pitching.... Que remarks about our awesome record You obvioulsy don't read this board much, hardly anybody makes the "best team in baseball" excuse. Especially when it comes to things like that. RockRaines
your first clue would have been that walk to Tex. Once that happened, then the wild pitch, he should have been yanked. Now we have to come back from a huge deficit. This is all coaching at this point.
southsideirish71
Did El Duque get too far above 85-86 today? He might needs another dance on the DL before the playoffs to get the cobwebs out of the rotator cuff. B lineup + 50 year old pitcher late in the season = Loss

Harry Chappas
At least our bullpen will be good and rested for winter ball. Guillen is a great motivator but a completly horse s*** manager. My gut tells me Cleveland is watching this on tv (ala Dusty Baker theory) and licking their chops.
S720
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 02:54 PM) El Duque was left in too long. he should never of been in a position to give up 5 runs this inning. Too much trust out of the coaching staff It's not even Duque. It's all of our starting pitchers. All have pitched like hell lately! What the hell is going on with our starting pitchers? It seems like everyone of them has pitched horrendously after the AS break.

Misplaced_Sox
I read the board alot.....actually almost two years now. Just started posting today. The Ginger Kid
I don't blame the duke. 100 pitches in 100 degree heat? He's probably 40 years old? whatever happens, happens. The Sox don't seem to be fazed at all by the shrinking lead in their division. No sense of urgency.

RockRaines
there is just no way he should have been out there with the chance to give up the additional runs. He was at 100 pitches, and was showing no control, and just threw a meatball. Thats when you yank your pitcher. DUH

Kid Gleason
Remember how hollow the joy felt at the winning the division in 2000 was due to our winning it after a loss? We played like crap, and you could just feel how poorly we were going to be playing in the post. It was cool to get there, but ya just knew. I have that same feeling starting up right now.
