valponick
Sox hit a tough stretch of games and I notice tonight the outfield is pretty empty. My guess is that everyone is at home grooming their mullets for tomorrow night.
nitetrain8601
Very empty. I guess people have caught on that they're not winning. And for the Sox, if they're not winning, they're not going to draw.
valponick
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 12:37 AM) Very empty. I guess people have caught on that they're not winning. And for the Sox, if they're not winning, they're not going to draw. The good thing is we seem to play better at home when nobody is there. Maybe if we get everyone to wear blue during the playoffs it will create some sort of illusion.

nitetrain8601
Wow, and why can't they win at home? Maybe we should play in a completely empty park for the playoffs.

The Critic
Just got home, GREAT game! Surprised that the crowd was a little low, since it was a beautiful evening, but with the Bears taking a few fans away and a less-than-thrilling opponent, I suppose I understand it. 21,000 fans = room to spread out and enjoy the game, so I was happy. 12 runs = I was VERY happy! Notice how he doesn't say anything about short concession lines. I'm guessing you bought nothing and snuck in a 'shooter' bottle. Way to support the cause! whitesoxin'
Don't forget the outrageous gas prices. That's one of the reasons I'm not going this weekend anymore, I was planning on going either Friday or Saturday.
Rowand44
Ya, I'm stuck at school right now. I did however purchase playoff tickets so I'll be at all those games, school is just going to have to take a back seat.

YASNY
People are afraid that what they consider disposable dollars today might not be tomorrow. Not when gas is priced at $6 per gallon in Atlanta. We could seriously be in for some hard economic times in the not to distant future. That between myself, the Mrs and the little one we purchased 4 hot dogs ( I luuuuuuuuuuv dollar dog day ), a cotton candy and 2 large Pepsi's. ( I don't drink alcoholic beverages when I bring the kid. ) Plus we took advantage of the Sox "bring-in" policy and brought some peanuts and a bottle of water in with us. ....and YES, the shorter concession lines are nice, too!!!
