Antonio Osuna
Wow. Just wow. Our 6th Starter -- 6th!!! -- shuts down the best offense in all of baseball. Impressive. I don't remember where BMAC was on August 31; is there any chance we could put him on the playoff roster?
SnB
the sox proving that they're back...........not just against the tigers and royals.
Balta1701
Brandon McCarthy. 14 2/3 innings. Against first, the best power hitting lineup in baseball, and second, against the best overall lineup in baseball. 0 runs. 5 hits. Brandon...wow. Well done kiddo. I can't wait to see you do this over a full year. Oh, and welcome back BMac's changeup...the pitch that disappeared in June! Man, that was fun to watch. Actually I'm pretty sure he was on the 25, so yes.

BigSqwert
Awesome game! BMAC is for real. Sox unstoppable in September (and October).
BFirebird
BMac what a performance and a showcase of years to come....star in the making.
fathom
This was as good of a performance as I've seen all year by the Sox, outside of the base running blunders. McCarthy pitched a great game, and really did a great job of keeping hitters off-balanced.
ceffa2000
Thanks BMAC!!! Whole Team:

bulokis
QUOTE(CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 01:37 PM) Great team win . BMac just outta sight ! There is no I in Team-0 Uribe unstoppable lately. Another Paulie pop ! Uribe has been a big lift on our offense. Instead of not turning the lineup around, Uribe is getting on base and setting up the top of our lineup.
Balta1701
QUOTE(bulokis @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 12:39 PM) Uribe has been a big lift on our offense. Instead of not turning the lineup around, Uribe is getting on base and setting up the top of our lineup. This is a whole different team with a hot Uribe. An entirely different lineup. It goes from being an average/mediocre lineup to a good lineup...possibly a very good one.
CaliSoxFanViaSWside
Oh yeah another thing. We're back to our season high of 34 games above .500 .
ottawa_sox
One out in the ninth for Detroit - tying runs on 1st and 2nd. Top of the order up - Shelton pinchitting.
ottawa_sox
QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 04:06 PM) One out in the ninth for Detroit - tying runs on 1st and 2nd. Top of the order up - Shelton pinchitting. Oh well - Shelton hits into a game ending double play.
fathom
Indians win. Another heartless effort by the Tigers. I'm not sure how their manager has a job after another poor season with seemingly good talent.

AddisonStSox
McCarthy with two outstanding, consecutive efforts. He's been a very nice contributor down the strech here.
Jordan4life_2007
This was a HUGE win. For one, the Magic number is now 17. Two, this gives us a full 5 game lead on Boston for homefield advantage through the AL playoffs. Three, it proves that B-mac's performance against Texas was no fluke. This kid is the real f***in deal. And, of course, we're 5-0 this month.
Soxfest
Should of never had to go to Boston with a 5-2 lead in August ....good win
