Any Sox Gold Glovers?

Do you think there will be any White Sox gold glove winners this year. I personally think Rowand could and Mark and Jon have been great this year, like usual. It'd be great to see Aaron win it, as good as he's been this year in critical situations, when he had to make a play.

Also, I think A.J. deserves one behind the plate. He's been near perfect and is the best pitch-caller in the MLB. Plus, if he's in a close race with another catcher, his spike in offense this year could help him overcome another player.

Here's some fielding stats:

TEAM POS G GS INN TC PO A E DP PB SB CS RF FPCT

A. Rowand

J Garland

Also, I think Crede will win it in one or two years, if he stays healthy

Crede won't get one...being hurt hasn't helped him, and he's not Chavez - the marquee name.

ARow actually I think has a very very good shot, because first of all Torii Hunter has been out for half the season, and secondly ARow put on a show on a public stage for the Yankees and their sportswriters.

Uribe...well, he's not the best shortstop in the AL, but he's not the worst either. He needs some more time there.

Pitching...god damnit, one of our guys better win that damn glove. There have been none better in the AL this season than Mark/Jon.

I agree. The AL pitcher gold glove is a toss up between Mark and Jon this season. The winner goes to the one of theose two who has the lowest ERA at the end of the year. (We'll wait and see)

Rowand got a lot of publicity for his defense that week in New York, so he might have a chance. He opened some eyes.

I thought Crede definitely deserved a gold glove until that error against the Red Sox in the night at the Cell. After that, he seemed to lose a little confidence.

CERA has nothing to do with the defense of a catcher really.

Vernon Wells and Ichiro will both win GG this year most likely. The third is pretty much up for grabs. I don't see Row getting it, he still is not well known enough nationally.

Who are the other candidates? I can only think of one, maybe Kotsay??

I'm thinking Kotsay will come away with the GG.

Unfortunately the gold glove basically became meaningless to me when Jeter won one last year. Rowand and Kotsay are the two best outfielders in the A.L. this year with Hunter on the dl for a lot of the season.

This is gonna be Rowand's first. Hunter is down and Kotsay isn't as good as Aaron, imo. Aaron has gotten some late coverage from ESPN (including the labor day broadcast in Boston where they raved about his defense) and I think that, along with the Sox playing well this year will get him the award).

Chavez will win it for 3rd. Crede is near =, but Chavez can hit and until Crede develops his offensive game a little more he won't win the award. AJ nowhere close (can't throw out a runner) and its Bengie Molinas award to lose, imo.

Garland/Buehrle are both outstanding fielding pitchers, but I don't know if they'll get it. Garland is the better of the two, imo.
