Dick Allen
QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 07:50 PM) Does anyone know if there is somebody up pen yet? Hard Art is always up, talking some ball. He doesn't wear his shin guards like Michael Jackson anymore, though.
greg775
How come we get a walk with 2 outs and never make 'em pay. If this was a Mark walk ... bam!
BigSqwert
QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) How come we get a walk with 2 outs and never make 'em pay. If this was a Mark walk ... bam! Because our offense is not that good.

SoxFanForever
Swinging at the first pitch usually does that. We have no plate discipline outside of a few guys. Namely Pauly and Juan lately.
jphat007
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 07:48 PM) Thay may be the case vs Anaheim but against playoff contenders this is a typical game for Mark. He blows against Oakland and Boston this year. Anaheim is not a playoff contender?
greg775
We need to win this game somehow, but i am not optimistic. Are any of you getting worried at all about the Tribe? I know we won 7 in a row but they refuse to cool off??
Dick Allen
5 runs should have been enough to win tonight. Buerhle has been very dissapointing. For the first time ever, I felt he lost his composure with that fantom balk call.

greg775
5 runs shoulda been enough you are correct. can we pull out a sloppy win, that is the ? I say doubtful.
BigSqwert
Well there's one good thing about Mark's poor start today. Don Cooper was on AM 1000 today and said that BMAC's role would depend on how Jon and Mark were involved in the CY Young race. I think after today we can count Mark out of that race. BMAC should get another start.
illinilaw08
QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 07:53 PM) Swinging at the first pitch usually does that. We have no plate discipline outside of a few guys. Namely Pauly and Juan lately. You really cannot say enough about the recent turnaround of Juan Uribe though. I never thought I would be agreeing with a post about Juan Uribe plate discipline, but his entire approach at the plate has changed recently. I never thought I would be agreeing with a post about Juan Uribe plate discipline, but his entire approach at the plate has changed recently. No doubt. It's like he's a completely different hitter. Maybe we can pretend we traded Juan Uribe for a Uribe clone that hits better. So I guess we did make a trade at the deadline afterall...super Uribe.
