southsider2k5
I noticed something interesting, well to me at a least, while scanning the stat page. With Crede on the DL there is only a .30 difference between the lowest BA for a starter (Uribe .254) and the highest BA for a starter (Podsednik .284), does anything other team have that little of a spread? Even if Crede is factored in, the difference is only .52.

southsider2k5
Is the end of the steroid era starting to reflect in the stat page? In the AL there are only 8 guys hitting over .300, total. No one is hitting over .330 at all. The NL only has 12 guys hitting over .300, with the leader at .343. For a comparision sake in 2004 the NL alone has 19 guys over .300.

It all seems to go in cycles and right now you can definatley see a lot more young pitchers coming up than young hitters (although Pujols and Cabrerra are awesome young hitters). But you got a lot more Jake Peavy's, Jon Garland's, Dontrell Willis, Carlos Zambrono's, etc.

You gotta figure there is some kind of comfort in a pitcher's mind when he knows that no one is juicing and can hit any pitch out at any time. southsider2k5
Something I found on Reifort's blog. [the Sox] are 13-29 when scoring two or less, surpassing their win total from 2002-04 combined when they went 5-128 in those games
WSoxMatt
Im concerned that we scored 2 or less 42 times!!!

Actually the funny thing is that if you took our average of 2002-2004 we scored 2 runs or under an average of 44.33 games a year vs the 42 times this year, even with that legendary offense that we used to posess.
