My observations

Colorado Sox Fan

Recommended Posts

1) Why is a .200 hitter starting for the Sox at first? Why is Geoff Blum in the majors? You talk about how Ozzie is in love with Timo, what about this loser who should not be wearing a major league uniform? Get him off the team.

2) MB is a nice number three starter, but no Cy Young candidate. Mark: instead of criticizing fan support, learn how to pitch with a lead. If you need examples, see Dewey Hoyt in 1983. A top pitcher doesn't give up the lead TWICE after his team battled back. Disgraceful!!!

3) There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with the upper deck at US Cellular. I sat almost in the top row and had a great view of the game. Anyone who criticizes the upper deck is a moron. Go to Yankee Stadium, or for that matter, Coors Field and sit at the top of the upper deck. Case closed.

4) I don't understand why there weren't more people at the game. I am not an attendance critic, but it was a beautiful Friday night against a top team in the AL and we couldn't break 30k. That's bad. However, I would never criticize someone who didn't go--ticket prices are too high and food and drinks are an outrage. I just think there are enough people in Chicagoland who could go to a game to see the best team in the majors fight it out against another top team. That said, I enjoyed having elbow room.

5) Ross Gload should shut his mouth until he gets a key hit or makes a play in the field. Poor throw on Guerrero. Shut up Ross. See you in Milwaukee next year, you whining wuss!

6) Sox fans are the best in the world! I shouted myself hoarse tonight and it was great to see such enthusiasm at the park. It's a shame our manager played another one of his curious lineups

7) Jenks is a stud!

8) This team won't go far with a manager who favors AAA ballplayers who shouldn't be near a major league stadium.

9) Sorry I couldn't see you guys Thursday night, but I had to work too late. Just as well--another frustrating game for Sox.

10) Despite everything, I want to go back Saturday and/or Sunday! I love the Chicago White Sox!!!!

11) Anytime Carl wants to get a hit, it's OK with me.

Good night, God bless and take you shots, boys!!!

It looks like the Timo's off the hook here, soxtalk has a new whipping boy. I'm not even going to bother with the rest of your post.

Timo and Blum are arguably two of the worst commodities this team has. Blum's only redeeming quality is his versatility in the infield and switch hitting abilities. Too bad he can't hit worth a s***.

#6... Gload never threw the ball at all today.

Ok, speaking of that, did anyone watch the game on mlb.tv? The angels announcers kept saying Gload threw the ball and it was just pissing me off for some reason, I never knew Gload was Japanese.

I wasn't sure where this rant fell under the new "Personal Attacks" guidelines.  Just trying to be helpful and weed out free thinking members of Soxtalk.

He didn't attack any player personally, he attacked their play on the field.

^ Agreed, the only thing "wrong" was blaming the wrong player for a bad throw. --

I often lose track of things like that on odd plays when I'm at the game if I'm not keeping score, so I suppose it's not a bannable offense :P

I have faith the moderating team would not taken such drastic measures. I just wanted to be sure he wasn't the victim of "dark cloud" pile on reminiscent of WSI. Doesn't take long for other optimists to jump in and question your loyalty to the team. Then before you know it people have permantly labeled you as overly pessimistic, discredit all your opinions, or claim your posts aren't worthy of reply. Oh wait.

Are you honestly offended by the remarks of just snitching on a fellow poster? :D I don't know why you're intent on proving his remarks violate our new posting policy. I'm sure the moderators know what comments are unneccessary and need to be edited

I don't really want the guy to be banned, I was just pointing out that his post falls into the gray area of "Personal Attacks" where on a different night, with a different moderator, things might be different. If you read the link to the original "Personal Attacks" thread, you'll see that that's my basic stance. Mods do a great job. A job I certainly wouldn't be able to do. Thanks.

He was whining about playing time when he was called up. For some reason he feels Ross will be playing in Milwaukee next year, which is just about impossible (Prince Fielder). Calling him a wuss is hardly an attack and he's telling him to shut up becuase he was whining.

Also he made this post thinking that Ross made the throw home, when in fact it was Tadahito Iguchi.

I apologize to Ross Gload, Sox fans and anyone else I offended. I thought it was Gooch, but someone at the game told me it was Gload. Maybe the upper deck isn't such a great place to watch a game after all.[/color

Anyway, if I come off as negative it's just that I care very much about this team and take losses hard. You guys (we) deserve a championship!!

If you want to ban me for being a passionate Sox fan, go ahead. I thought we could all share our feelings here.

I apologize for the "wuss" comment. It was the product of too many six dollar beers at the park.

Also, is it too much to ask, God, for the throw to the plate on ARow to sail up the third base line? Did he have to make a perfect strike??
