fathom
Another amazing offensive game by our anchor. Not only that, but because he's been slumping, Ozzie had to make the right move and try to move PK up in the order.

Chisoxfn
QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 13, 2005 -> 09:08 PM) They have nearly 70 million invested in 16 players next year i have just read. That seems kinda high to me but i have not checked to see if it was accurate or not. Either way, i would rather up grade at mutiple positions than just one... especially considering the guy we would be paying twelve millio has only had one great year and one solid one. Thats not accurate. Not at all. Sox payroll currently stands at 75 million roughly. Remove Konerko/Thomas/Everett's contracts from the books and that will push the payroll far lower. Konerko will probably get a 4 mill raise, so you could say that the Sox will save about 7 million between losing Thomas/Everett which would put the club at roughly 68 million. Than you got a raise to Garland (2-3 mill), raises to Buehrle and any other arb players. Basically put, the current roster sans Everett/Thomas and with all raises will be right around 72 million. Than you deal Marte and Duque and the payroll is in the 66 mill range with McCarthy replacing Brandon and the Sox needing to find someone to replace Duque. Payroll will be at least 85 million next year, so that gives the Sox roughly 20 million to play with to fill DH/3rd/lefty reliever and add a bench player or two. Plus if they want to give anyone else raises they can do that as well.
SoxFanForever
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 05:16 AM) I've got them at 57.35 figuring they buy out Everett and Frank.. The only Arb eligble player I added was Garland at $7M (which is about what he'd earn next year) Other Arb eligble guys who I didn't figure are Viz (2M max?) and Crede(who knows?) AJ? CWSGuy406
Over/under -- Carl Everett's OBP -- .300. Before this game, it stood at .308. It has to be like .305 right now.

I won't talk about the Sox and playoffs, but regardless of the outcome this year, you will see a good size raise. Minimum this payroll will be 80 million and if they win in September, they will have a payroll at a minimum of 85 million.
