The second time around theory really hasn't held up this year. The Sox are 14-17 in the second decision against pitchers who have more than one decision against them. When you only count those where the time between decisions is 14 days or less, they are 4-4.

As to Howell, he went 5 IP 5 ER June 22, 6 IP 2 ER on Sept 8. Both in US Cellular.

I guess they'll have to play the game tonight to see who wins.

Borch in right

Dye DH

Anderson LF

Ozuna 38

Ozuna - Iguchi - Rowand - Konerko - Dye - Piez - Uribe - Borchard - Anderson

Can't do any worse than last week and I think this is a better defensive team.

This is tonight's line up?

I don't like it at all

Pods, LF

Iguchi, 2B

PK, 1B

Everett, DH

Rowand, CF

Dye, RF

Uribe, SS

Widger, C

Crede, 3B

Garcia, RHP

With Tribe facing Zito we need to take advantage of facing a pitcher with an ERA of 6+. I see the Widge is back, hopefully he can contribute with the rest of the others.

If Everett doesn't K tonight I will lay off of him...lol.

Go get those damn Royals!! :gosox1: :headbang :gosox3:

Howell's best outting of the year, coincidentally, was against our Sox September 8th. Although I'm happy to see him again since I'm confident we'll hit him.

This offense fails to scratch across 4 runs there's something wrong. His ERA isn't knocking on 7 because he's the recepient of poor luck or a bullpen which surrenders inherited runners. He's just that bad.

Get ready to hammer him. :bang  :lolhitting

haha, I don't have a problem with Carl but the other day I saw enough K's from him, I just felt like throwing my remote to the TV. I don't even think it was an important AB, he just sucks, throw it down and in and hes a goner.

You would think after going through a tough series against Angel pitching they will capitalize on facing Howell and well...pretty much KC in general. :gosox1: and I hope those damn Indians lose.

Why is Everett hitting cleanup and not someone who actually has a chance to hit something like AROW...

I swear Aaron gets no respect on this time... Being buried behind has beens like Everett....

This is the lineup Ozzie needs to use...

AROW 3rd, Kong Cleanup...

When we were at our hottest that was the freakin' lineup most of the time...

I bet it was just a coincidence though...

.727 ops verse righties and .761 overall seems like a ttrey hole hitter to me...

You overate your man crush to no end offensively. But i will tell you what if he keeps hitting like he has so far this month ( i like the patience he has shown) then he would be perfect in the trey hole.

Actually, it seems like according to the numbers, it probably was a coincidence...or at least it had nothing to do with Arow hitting 3rd.

In the 3 hole this year, ARow's numbers (Avg, Obp, slug, ops) are:

.275 .319 .412 .731

In the 5 hole:

.309 .381 .491 .872

Aaron has been significantly better in the 5 hole than in the 3 hole. So if we got hot when Aaron was hitting in the 3 hole, we did so more likely because of the performance of someone other than Aaron, who's numbers went down when he was hitting there.
