Kyyle23
QUOTE(BigEdWalsh @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 12:36 PM) http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ap-b...ov=ap&type=lgns Brooklyn Nets? Hmmm? I could get used to it, I suppose. This has been in the works for more than a year. a group of investors including Jay-Z bought the team and has been trying to move it to brooklyn if Brooklyn was willing to sell a large plot of land for the arena/center. WilliamTell
This is one the things where I'll believe it when I see it. It's been discussed for a while now.

nitetrain8601
Jay-Z is richer than us, yes, but he's doesn't have the money to run a franchise. He's only worth 300 million. I know it seems like I'm trying to downplay 300 million, but all owners in the NBA are worth tons more. Jay-Z owns a very small percentage of the team and is really a figurehead for the Nets. They're trying to appeal to the hip-hop audience with him.
