DBAHO

Recommended Posts

I took those guys a round or two early because I got stiffed in a roto league draft, a few days before our draft, when I waited too long.

The players I had targeted, were Swift and Pryzbilla, but DBAHO took Pryzbilla 3 picks before mine.

I also narrowly missed Donyell Marshall, and I missed Raja Bell by one pick too - That pissed me off.

Yeah man, you f***ed up my entire plan.

I looked at some of the beef beyond those in the Top 100, and I figured that I'd have a glorious draft in terms of big men.

Those that I drafted in bold:

#109 Sam Dalembert

#110 Ike Diogu

#122 Stromile Swift

#133 Joe Przybilla

#145 Al Jefferson

#153 Nenad Krstic

#165 Lorenzen Wright

#235 Zaza Pachulia

I also wanted Al Jefferson badly.

And I ain't gonna lie.  Kwame Brown at #280 overall would have been my final pick, but he got snagged right before I had a chance to draft him.  I had him in que and what not.  Don't get me wrong, I'm sure that he'll suck badly, but there's still that delusional basketball fan in me that sees 18 points and 10 rebounds per game.

Hahaha!! So you wanted Kwame too?? Sorry I snagged him, but you took Dalembert right before I was gonna pick him.

As for Kwame, he has the potential so I'm hoping under Jackson's wing he may bloom. I understand Jabbar is working with him. Incidently, I wanted Jefferson too.

And yes, my team is The Wichitas.

Ed, which team is yours?  Wichitas?

My favorite squad is probably JordanToGordan, even though I hate Gordon.   :D

I don't know who drafted that squad, but good job.  Willie?

Who is Adonal Foyle = MVP?  I was genuinely pissed off twice I'd say...when Swift and Krstic went way ahead of where Yahoo had them ranked.  I figured I'd get one of them, if not both.  As it is now, I'm lacking the beef necessary to wreck shop in blocks and FG%.

That would be me.

edit: hope their was no sarcasm there (it's my first year in fantasy B-ball) :)

Yeah I'm hoping Pryziblla's motivated enough in a contract year to show that last season's 2nd half was no fluke. If it wasn't, he can be a top 5 big man possibly.

And I grabbed Marhshall as well, debating b/w him and Grant Hill at the time, but Marshall's drains more 3's, and in a starter's spot alongside LeBron, he'll definitely have some good value this season.

Really annoyed Hammer grabbed Dwight Howard though, and refuses to trade him. :P :crying

i guarantee competition, done basketball twice and won it both times, however not for soxtalk, but hell yeah ill join, and ill win

Sorry you'll have to win a different league this one's already had its draft.

Who's all in this league and what's your team names? I'm "The Rally Bones" and some others are pretty obvious but I still don't know who Reigning Trey's is, I want Baron.

That's me. I complete forgot the draft was going on, and I need centers badly.

Definitely a solid team, ranger, but you suffered your first major injury with Amare.

Matrix being taken one pick before me made it a lot easier for me to decide whether to pick him or not, obviously, but I would imagine his value goes up with Amare out for so long.

My team is timo, but I'll probably change the name to sleepy or something like that soon.

And no, I wasn't interested interested in trading Okafor for sam cassell. Thanks for that offer, whoever it was. :P

But...

I'll trade raja if you're willing to part with McGrady... :P

Suggestion on how to circumvent injuries, from the Yahoo Injuries Report written by Matt Buser:

I'm really trying, but it's still tough getting used to the NBA's new way of doing things – having done away with the injured list in favor of expanded rosters that include "inactive" roster positions. Perhaps it's the fact that Samuel Dalembert, Andrei Kirilenko, and Carlos Boozer make up my entire bench in one of my head-to-head leagues At any rate, I thought I'd share one of the better suggestions I've heard that those of you in private leagues could employ (thanks, C-Note). Once a player misses a set criteria of games (three or five, for example), the player can be released to waivers, but "protected". The commissioner can push out the player's waiver date so he is essentially on waivers indefinitely. Keep a running tab of who is protected by whom, and when a player is set to be activated, the commissioner can change the player's waiver date yet again and be added to the original roster in favor of another player. It's just a suggestion if you and your league-mates are struggling to find a way to circumvent the new rules.
